Today, the Rural Health Unit of Parang joins the global observance of 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲 to remind everyone that mental health is just as important as physical health.
Let us create a community where everyone feels heard, understood, supported, and valued. Remember, it is okay not to be okay. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. A simple act of kindness, a listening ear, and a compassionate heart can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. 💚
Together, let us break the stigma, promote mental health awareness, and build a healthier, more compassionate community where no one has to face their struggles alone.
🌱 Your mental health matters. Your feelings are valid. You are not alone.

🌸 October is Mental Health Awareness Month!

The RHU Parang Mental Health Program conducted a mental health advocacy session for first-time pregnant mothers, particularly those with low BMI, at BHS Poblacion II.

The activity highlighted the importance of self-care, emotional support, recognizing signs of mental health concerns, knowing when to seek help, and breastfeeding education.

Recognizing that mental well-being can influence appetite, eating habits, and nutritional intake, RHU Parang emphasizes the importance of addressing both mental health and nutrition to support a healthier pregnancy.

Supplementary food boxes provided by MOH-BARMM were also distributed to nutritionally at-risk pregnant mothers.

RHU Parang remains committed to providing compassionate mental health support to all ages, especially mothers who need extra care during pregnancy. Because every mother deserves to feel supported, nourished, and empowered! 💕

FRIDAY REMINDERS 💛

It’s okay to choose yourself this time.

It doesn’t mean that you’re pushing people away. Choosing yourself is never something you have to apologize for.

It’s okay to say no.
Protect your energy
Honor your needs.

“Ako naman muna.”

Behind every newborn screened is a healthcare worker who chooses to care. Behind every family educated is a health warrior who chooses to persevere. And behind every child given a chance at a healthier future is a team that refuses to give up. ❤️

Being part of the 24th Newborn Screening Convention, under the theme “PEARLS: Progress, Expanded Services, Accomplishments, Research, Legacy, and Surveillance in Newborn Screening,” was more than an opportunity to share our experiences. It was a reminder of why we continue this mission, even when the journey is difficult.

As one of the panelists in “Empowering the Frontline: Primary Healthcare Workers as NBS Champions,” RHU Parang did not only carry our story with us, but also the dedication, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment of our Bangsamoro health warriors who serve our communities with compassion, often despite limited resources and countless challenges.

Our journey in newborn screening was not always easy. There were hesitations to overcome, misconceptions to address, and trust to build. But we learned that every conversation matters, every parent we reach makes a difference, and every newborn screened represents a future we are helping protect.

Because newborn screening is more than a test. It is hope for families, an opportunity for early intervention, and a promise that every child deserves a chance—regardless of where they are born or the circumstances they face. 💙

To our fellow Bangsamoro health warriors: Your work may not always be seen, your sacrifices may not always be recognized, and your challenges may not always be understood. But somewhere, a child’s future is brighter because you chose to care. Somewhere, a family has hope because you refused to give up.

Let us continue to be the voices that educate, the hands that serve, and the hearts that believe in a healthier future for every Bangsamoro child.

We are more than frontline healthcare workers. We are protectors of little lives, champions of hope, and partners in building a healthier Bangsamoro community.

✨ One newborn at a time. One family at a time. One community at a time.

Para sa bawat batang Bangsamoro. Para sa bawat pamilyang nangangarap. Para sa mas malusog na kinabukasan ng ating Bangsamoro people.

💙 All for the Bangsamoro people. All for every newborn. No child left behind.

RHU Parang is proud to have been represented by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐁. 𝐂𝐚𝐣𝐮𝐝𝐚, 𝐑𝐍, 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞, who joined the panel discussion on “Empowering the Frontline: Primary Healthcare Workers as NBS Champions”, representing both RHU Parang and IPHO Maguindanao.

Her participation highlights the vital role of frontline healthcare workers in promoting newborn screening, educating families, addressing misconceptions, and ensuring that every newborn has access to early detection and timely intervention.

Our journey in newborn screening reminds us that meaningful change begins with dedication, compassion, and the courage to overcome challenges. Every parent informed, every newborn screened, and every follow-up completed brings us one step closer to a healthier future for our children.

✨ This is more than participation—it is a celebration of our commitment to protect every newborn and give every child a healthier start in life.

Together, let us empower our frontline healthcare workers, strengthen newborn screening advocacy, and ensure that no newborn is left behind.

💙 For every newborn. For every family. For a healthier future.
