Day +142

Two years ago, our world changed when we learned that our son had bone marrow failure. Our days became filled with hospital admissions, painful tusok, blood transfusions, uncertainty, and endless prayers. Through every fear and challenge, God remained faithful and carried us through.

Today, by His grace and through a successful bone marrow transplant, our son is recovering. Seeing him smile, play, and enjoy life again is a miracle we will forever cherish. From those difficult days to now having only monthly check-ups, every step forward reminds us of God’s goodness and the power of answered prayers.

One of the greatest blessings is seeing him slowly return to the simple joys of childhood. He now enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring, playing, and even feeding the chickens those little moments that remind us how far God has brought him and how precious every day truly is.

What began as a page to share updates and ask for prayers became a testimony of hope, love, and God’s unfailing grace. As we close this chapter, this will be my last post on this page.

To everyone who prayed, donated blood, offered support, sent messages, and stood by our family thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You are forever part of our son’s story, and we will always carry your kindness and love with us.

We move forward with grateful hearts, knowing God never left our side. All glory and praise belong to Him. Thank You, Lord, for healing our JR Kaelo, guiding us through every storm, and giving him a second chance at life. 🤍🙏

This chapter may be ending, but God’s faithfulness and our gratitude will remain forever.

Day +89

Happy 7th Birthday to our brave little boy. ❤️

At such a young age, you have already shown more strength, courage, and resilience than we could have ever imagined. Through every challenge of your BMT journey, you continued to smile, fight, and teach all of us what true bravery looks like. Because of you, our family became stronger, our faith deeper, and our love for one another even more unshakable.

We celebrate not only your birthday, but also the beautiful light you are in our lives. You are our joy, our inspiration, and one of our greatest blessing.

We are also incredibly thankful to everyone who lifted our son up in prayer and surrounded him with love from the start of his medication, throughout BMT, and now as he continues to recover. Every prayer, message, visit, and act of kindness has meant more to our family than words can ever express. Thank you for walking this journey with us and for loving our little boy so wholeheartedly.

Happy Birthday, JR Kaelo. We love you beyond measure and are so, so proud of you. ❤️

Day +60

Yesterday, JR was admitted for his Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) infusion to support his new immune system and to prevent any infection during this stage of his recovery.

A Holy Week Blessing: JR Kaelo is Finally Home

First and foremost, we give our deepest thanks and praise to God Almighty for His love, mercy, and healing power throughout JR Kaelo’s Bone Marrow Transplant journey. We truly believe that it was God who carried our child through every difficult day and safely brought him back home to us.

We would also like to thank all our families, relatives, friends, workmates, classmates, religious groups, organizations, and even those who may not know us personally but still prayed, helped, and supported JR Kaelo. Your prayers, kindness, generosity, and encouragement gave our family strength and hope during one of the hardest times of our lives. We felt surrounded by love every step of the way.

Our heartfelt gratitude also goes to all the doctors, nurses, and the entire staff of the hospitals who took good care of JR Kaelo. Your dedication, patience, and compassion comforted not only our child but also our whole family. You became part of his healing journey, and we will always remember your kindness.

Before his transplant, JR Kaelo had already been undergoing treatments and medications at the Vicente L. Dañguilan Memorial Clinic, Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center from July 2024 to October 2025 and was also assessed by the AFP Medical Center. After that long season of treatment, he was admitted straight to The Medical City, Ortigas Pasig where he stayed for almost five months, from November 14, 2025 until today, April 1, 2026, for his Bone Marrow Transplant. It has been a long journey filled with prayers, waiting, and unwavering faith.

Today, we are grateful and happy that he has finally been discharged and is now back home. It feels especially meaningful to us that his homecoming happened during Holy Week — a time that reminds us of sacrifice, hope, and new life through GOD's grace.

Although this is a big milestone for our family, JR Kaelo’s recovery is still ongoing. The first 100 days after transplant remain a critical period, and we continue to move forward one day at a time. He will also have regular check-ups and close monitoring to make sure his recovery continues well and that his body keeps getting stronger.

We humbly ask for your continued prayers for JR Kaelo’s protection, healing, and complete recovery.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being instruments of GOD’s love and for walking this journey with our family. We will forever be grateful.🙏🙏🙏
