โ Can someone with a frozen shoulder receive a massage?**
This is a question I believe is important to clarify. ๐ฟ
Having a frozen shoulder doesn't automatically mean that massage is always prohibited, but it does require extra care.
Frozen shoulder can involve pain, stiffness, and limited movement. Because of this, deep pressure, aggressive stretching, or forceful movement of the affected shoulder should be avoided.
If you have been diagnosed with frozen shoulder, it's best to:
๐ Inform your massage therapist before the session
๐ Let your therapist know what movements or areas are painful
๐ Follow your doctor's or physical therapist's recommendations
๐ Avoid massage if you're experiencing significant pain or if your healthcare provider has advised against it
Your comfort and safety always come first.
Massage should complement appropriate careโnot replace medical or physical therapy treatment. ๐ฟ
