When someone else replaces you,
They act like none of it was true.
They try so hard to turn the page,
To kill the past, to hide the rage.
They do their best to block you out,
To silence every inner shout.
They try to feel a little less,
But can't escape the heaviness.
In everything they try to do,
You're always there — a part of you.
A shadow creeping through their day,
A voice that just won’t go away.
You’re in their mind, you’re in their chest,
A truth they never once confessed.
Afraid — and fear becomes the chain,
Cowardice ties them down in silent pain.
They fear the truth they hold inside,
They fear the world, so they just hide.
They fear their heart, they fear the cost,
They fear the love they thought they lost.
You didn’t know, but you could feel,
A truth they fought but couldn’t heal.
You weren’t aware, but it was loud,
A voice that breaks beneath the proud.
And deep inside, it told you so:
It’s time to let go. Just let go.
You can’t hold on to something sharp,
It cuts too deep, it scars the heart.
It hurts your hands, it breaks your skin.
Let them go — let thier darkness win.
Let them stay where they belong —
With all the thorns. That’s where they’re strong.
