LOOK: Stronger youth leadership today creates resilient health programs tomorrow. 💪🏽

For many years, we’ve been partnering with Youth Council or Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) leaders across Palawan to boost adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) initiatives in their communities.

This year, with our Norwegian Embassy partners, we have trained elected young leaders in two municipalities – Batraza and Brooke’s Point – to identify local challenges, learn from one another, and develop youth-friendly programs and policies that respond to the needs of the young people they serve.

Watch this space! We can't wait to see these young leaders turn their ideas into action and create lasting change in their communities over the coming months.💗

Roots of Health turns 17! 🎉

For 17 years, we've worked alongside women, young people, communities, and partners to expand access to adolescent sexual and reproductive health education and services and build stronger health systems across the Philippines.

To celebrate our peak teenage year, we organized a high school musical-themed night full of creativity, laughter, and team spirit. We’re reminded that we’re all in this together and that lasting impact starts with a diverse and passionate group of people behind a shared purpose.

To our staff, partners, supporters, and donors, thank you for being part of this journey. What a privilege to be building healthier futures together. 💜

Empowered choices shape the future.

At Roots of Health, we work toward a Philippines where women, young people, and families have the knowledge, healthcare, and support they need to make informed decisions about their own lives.

Whether it's staying in school, planning for a family, protecting one's health, or pursuing opportunities, access to reproductive healthcare and education helps make those choices possible.

This World Population Day, we celebrate the power of informed choices and the people who make them every day.

Pride Month may be over, but the work of building inclusive communities continues every day.

Behind every performance is a story of purpose. ✨

Meet our queens—Bobby Luxe Noir, Lala Diva, Misthique, and Queen Mischievous.
Beyond the stage, they're advocates, educators, and champions of sexual and reproductive health, using the power of drag to spark conversations, build community, and inspire change.

Pride is not just a season. It’s a daily celebration and commitment to inclusion. Stand with advocates, keeping that commitment alive. 🌈💜

A month later, we're still reflecting on the conversations and connections from the Women Deliver Conference in Australia.

It was an honor to join advocates and changemakers in discussing how climate shocks affect adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH). As climate crises continue to disrupt communities, women and girls are often the first to lose access to essential SRHR services.

These conversations remind us why building climate-resilient, rights-based health systems is more urgent than ever and why we need to keep this conversation going. 🌏💚

In 2025, we continued building on the work that helped contribute to a 53% reduction in teen pregnancy in Palawan in the last 8 years.

We expanded our work, piloted programs in new areas, continued building on lessons and continued testing what it takes to create lasting change.

Working with the Sangguniang Kabataan of Bataraza and Brooke’s Point, we continue to strengthen elected youth leaders as SRHR champions in Palawan -- equipped to use their voices, talents, and platforms for rights-based, inclusive health education.

Proud to partner with local governments in building empowered and informed young leaders. 🙌
