The East Avenue Medical Center Department of Internal Medicine - Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism celebrated Diabetes Awareness Week last July 27, 2026 at the Outpatient Department. 🎉

The activity featured a lay forum on Diabetes delivered by our Endocrinology Fellows, free blood sugar and blood pressure monitoring, Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) screening, and an exciting raffle for all of our participants. 🩺

We are proud and grateful to have welcomed a total of 150 active participants, making the event a meaningful opportunity to promote diabetes awareness, early detection, and preventive care in our community! 🍭

We are very much grateful to our Diabetes club patients for sharing their time and participating in the Diabetes Community Fair held at Robinsons Magnolia!

It was a jam-packed day filled with learning through various activities like lay fora, art contests, journaling, zumba sessions, and raffle draws!

Onwards to uplifting our advocacy for Diabetes Awareness! 🍭

The Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism proudly congratulates Dr. Gizelle Von Gargalicana for representing our institution at the Endocrine Society’s Annual Meeting (ENDO 2026) held in Chicago, Illinois, USA, from June 13–16, 2026.

Dr. Gargalicana presented her research entitled:

“Severe Fetal Tachyarrhythmia Associated with Transplacental Thyroid Receptor Antibody Transfer in Poorly Controlled Graves’ Disease: A Multidisciplinary Case Report”

We are especially proud to share that her abstract was recognized with the Outstanding Abstract Award, a prestigious distinction given to exemplary scientific contributions presented at ENDO 2026.

In addition, Dr. Gargalicana participated in the 13th Annual Type 1 Diabetes Fellows Series, an international educational program that brings together endocrinology fellows to advance knowledge and collaboration in the care of individuals living with Type 1 Diabetes.

Your dedication to clinical excellence, research, and academic advancement brings honor to our section and serves as an inspiration to fellow trainees and colleagues.

Ito ay dulot ng labis na cortisol (stress hormone) sa katawan na isa sa mga sintomas ang pamimilog ng mukha, taba sa batok, altapresyon, at madaling mapagod.

Kung ikaw ay mayroong isa sa mga sintomas, magpatingin sa Endocrinologist para sa tamang diagnosis at maiwasan ang komplikasyon.
