Lay Forum and Stoma Workshop
In celebration of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, the Victoriano Luna General Hospital, Department of Surgery, General Surgery Service hosted a layforum and stoma workshop on Day 1 of the campaign wherein different specialties conducted series of short lectures to educate our fellow doctors, post graduate medical interns, nurses, patients and caregivers regarding Colorectal Cancer screening and prevention, treatment options such as surgery, medical and radiation therapy and mental health care. We also invited one of patient to share her journey while battling Re**al Adenocarcinoma.
For the afternoon event, we held our Stoma and Wound Care Workshop in partnership with GETZ PHARMA and Bbraun, wherein we invited our nurses, student nurses, interns, and caregivers to attend a lecture on proper Stoma Care and Pouching Technique.
As we close the lay forum and stoma with wound care workshop, we carry with us more than just knowledge—we carry shared understanding, compassion, and a renewed commitment to patient-centered care.
