A little preparation can make your first ultrasound visit feel much easier. 🩷

Before heading to Womb & Wonder, remember these 3 practical tips:

1. Check whether you need to drink water before your scan.
Some ultrasounds require a comfortably full bladder, so you may be instructed to drink water beforehand and hold your urine until the examination is done.

2. Don’t skip meals unless your scan specifically requires fasting.
Preparation varies depending on the ultrasound you are having. If no fasting instructions were given, there is usually no reason to arrive hungry.

3. Dress for comfort and convenience.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being scanned. A top with pants, shorts, or a skirt can make your examination more comfortable.

The internet made TVS look scarier than it actually is. 😅

A Transva**nal Ultrasound gives your healthcare provider a detailed view of your pelvic organs, including the uterus and ovaries, and can be especially useful for fertility monitoring, early pregnancy assessment, and evaluating certain gynecologic concerns.

What actually happens? A slim ultrasound probe is gently inserted into the va**na while you lie comfortably on the examination bed. You may feel pressure, but your sonographer will guide you through the process and can stop or adjust if you feel uncomfortable.

So no, you do not need to spend the whole appointment panicking about what is coming next. 🩷
