Beyond the successful 6th CV Surgical Mission at Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC), the Philippine Heart Center (PHC), as the National Specialty Center (NSC) for Cardiovascular Care, also conducted mentoring and monitoring activities to support the continued development of sustainable cardiovascular services in the region.

Working closely with local healthcare leaders and frontline teams, we assessed readiness, looked at current gaps and identified opportunities for further capacity building. These efforts were guided by the strategic oversight of the Department of Health - Health Facility Development Bureau (DOH-HFDB) through the Resource Stratification Framework (RSF), enabling an objective assessment of the Regional Heart Center initiative in CRMC. Together, we continue to strengthen regional healthcare systems and bring quality heart care closer to every Filipino.

Our heartfelt gratitude to the leadership and staff of Cotabato Regional and Medical Center, the Department of Health, our partner healthcare professionals, volunteers, and all stakeholders whose unwavering support and commitment made this mission possible. Together, we move forward as one ensuring valuable help is extended to every region.

PHC and CRMC Conclude Surgical-Interventional Mission

We are proud to announce the successful completion of this week's 6th Surgical-Interventional Mission by the Philippine Heart Center and the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center.

Through the collective efforts of the medical teams, numerous pediatric patients with various cardiovascular conditions received life-changing open-heart surgeries and interventional cardiac procedures. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to bringing quality healthcare closer to those who need it most.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the surgeons, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, administrative staff, partners and everyone who contributed their time, expertise, and support to make this mission a success.

In the wake of yesterday’s earthquake, uncertainty and concern were felt throughout the community. Yet amid these challenges, the dedicated surgical team of the PHC CV Surgical Mission remained steadfast in their commitment to serve.

Today, the mission moves forward with the safety of patients and healthcare workers as the highest priority. Through teamwork, determination, and unwavering compassion, the team continues to provide much-needed cardiovascular surgical care to patients who have been waiting for this opportunity.

This experience is a powerful reminder that the spirit of service endures even in difficult times. We commend our surgeons, physicians, nurses, support staff, and partners for their professionalism, courage, and dedication in carrying out this mission despite unforeseen circumstances.

PHC and CRMC Commences Surgical-Interventional Mission

The Philippine Heart Center and the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center started their 6th Cardiovascular Surgical and Interventional Mission in Cotabato City yesterday, June 8, 2026.

This mission celebrated the spirit of service, collaboration, and compassion as medical teams from all over Mindanao came together to deliver specialized cardiovascular care to pediatric patients. This reflects our continuing efforts to improve access to quality healthcare and create better health outcomes for patients and their families.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all surgeons, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, admin staff, and partner organizations whose dedication makes this mission possible.
