5 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT LASER TREATMENTS

Thinking of getting a laser treatment? Basahin muna ito—because it’s not just about the machine:

1️⃣ Hindi lang machine ang bida—operator ang pinaka-importante.

Kahit gaano ka high-end ang isang laser, if hindi trained and experienced ang gumagamit, pwede mag-cause ng burns, peklat, or discoloration. Proper settings + tamang judgment per skin type = safe and effective results.

2️⃣ Pre-Laser Skin Prep Matters!

Hindi lang laser ang importante — pati skincare mo before treatment.

⚠️ Avoid muna ng:
• Retinol
• Glycolic acid
• Scrubs/exfoliants

3–5 days before your session dahil pwedeng maging extra sensitive ang skin and mas prone to irritation.

✅ Before your treatment:
Keep your skin clean, calm, and irritation-free.

3️⃣ Pwedeng mag-lighten… pero pwede ring mag-darken 😬
Pigment-targeting lasers can improve pigmentation—but if too aggressive, lalo na sa morena to darker skin, pwede mag-trigger ng long-term dark spots or even light patches.

4️⃣ Sun protection is NON-NEGOTIABLE ☀️

Hindi pwede maglaser ang bagong bilad or may sunburn. Some lasers target pigment or water—so higher risk of burns pag exposed ka sa araw or sunburnt. Sunscreen is your best friend before and after treatment.

5️⃣ Hydration + skin thickness matter 💧
Mas hydrated at healthy ang skin, mas maganda ang response sa laser. Thin or compromised skin = higher risk of irritation and side effects. Different areas of the body= different thickness. For example, the neck is thinner and is more prone to being over “cooked” by higher laser settings. Dapat alam yan ng laser operator nyo.

✨ Bottom line: Laser treatments are powerful and beneficial for many concerns. However, the type of laser used, parameters and patient suitability should always be considered and the operator should be highly trained and experienced.

Scientists are already decoding how acupuncture eases pain. The human body already has a pain relief system. Acupuncture helps activate it.

Many scientists have dismissed acupuncture as little more than a placebo, but advanced imaging and clinical research reveal measurable changes in the body during treatment. As the evidence continues to grow, experts are rethinking where this ancient practice belongs in modern pain relief.

Facial & Scalp Acupuncture = Skin + Brain + Hair Therapy

Acupuncture stimulates local microcirculation + fibroblasts
→ ↑ collagen signaling, faster skin repair, ↓ inflammatory acne
(shown in RCTs & skin perfusion studies)

Neurovascular benefits: it calms the stress response (↓ cortisol, ↑ parasympathetic tone) → clearer mind, better sleep, fewer stress flares. (supported by fMRI + HRV studies, incl. work by Napadow)

Clinical evidence:
• Facial acupuncture improved elasticity & fine lines in small human trials
• Body acupuncture reduced acne lesion counts vs control
(World Health Organization recognizes acne as a condition responsive to acupuncture)

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, local acupuncture moves Qi & Blood and clears Heat/Toxins which leads to brighter complexion, balanced oil, stronger and nourished hair follicles.

Move Qi & Blood. Heal Skin and Mind.

Lately, one pattern keeps showing up in the clinic: poor sleep. From flares in skin conditions to deeper health issues, disrupted circadian rhythms are taking a visible toll on the body. Many patients are surprised to learn that when you sleep matters just as much as how long and how well you sleep.

Acne Keloidalis Nuchae (AKN): What You Should Know

Small bumps or keloid-like scars at the back of the neck or scalp? This may be Acne Keloidalis Nuchae—a chronic inflammatory condition, not simple acne.

Common triggers:
• Close shaving or frequent haircuts
• Friction from collars, helmets, or masks
• Curly/coarse hair, ingrown hairs

Why early care matters:
Untreated AKN can lead to permanent scarring and hair loss.

What helps:
✔ Avoid close shaving and friction
✔ Early medical treatment (topicals, injections, laser)
✔ Consistent follow-up with your dermatologist

Early action = better outcomes.
If you notice persistent bumps on the nape, have them checked early.
