Walking 6,000–8,000 steps a day helps keep the doctor away. ❤
As a Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine physician, I spend most of my day in clinic seeing patients—often sitting for 13 to 15 hours a day. Knowing the effects of a sedentary lifestyle, I decided to make a small change this 2026: walking for an hour at 6:00 AM on my days off.
What surprised me was who I kept meeting along the way. Over the past six months, I bump into my neighbors in their 70s, 80s, and even 90s. Most have never been my patient but they all seem to share one simple habit, they keep moving.
Sometimes, the simplest treatment for good health is also the most accessible: walk more.
Small steps. Big impact.
