After several years of unsuccessful deceased organ donor referrals, EVMC has finally marked a historic milestone — our first-ever successful multi-organ deceased donation.

As a long-time advocate for deceased organ donation and a former transplant coordinator, this moment is deeply meaningful. I’ve seen how difficult it is to reach this point. We’ve had countless referrals end in silence, in fear, or in grief too heavy to bear. But this time — in one of the most critical, emotional moments — a grieving family found the strength to say “yes" to organ donation.

Thanks to the selfless decision of one heroic donor and their family, multiple lives were saved. 💚
