PPTA CaReS Election Results 2026 | Leadership Transition

The PPTA Cardiac Rehabilitation Special Interest Group (PPTA CaReS) successfully conducted its elections on 20 February 2026.

We are proud to introduce the newly elected officers:

SIG Head – Angelo F. Magbag, PTRP
Assistant SIG Head – Trina Ericka R. Presto, PTRP
SIG Secretary – Julie Jane G. Testa, PTRP

We extend our sincere congratulations to the incoming officers and express our gratitude to all members who participated in the electoral process.

As we begin this new term of leadership, PPTA CaReS reaffirms its commitment to strengthening cardiac rehabilitation practice, fostering collaboration, and promoting evidence-based professional growth within the PPTA.

We warmly invite PPTA members with an interest in cardiac rehabilitation to join the SIG and be part of our growing professional community!

We’re excited to announce that the focus for World PT Day 2026 will be cardiovascular disease and stroke, and the role physiotherapists play in their prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.
This will be the first of a four-year campaign that will focus on NCDs, with cancer, diabetes, and COPD/respiratory disease being covered in upcoming years

This February, the Philippine Physical Therapy Association joins the nation in celebrating Philippine Heart Month 2026 with the theme “Bringing Heart Care Closer to Every Filipino.” ❤️

As movement and rehabilitation specialists, physical therapists play a vital role in preventing cardiovascular disease through safe exercise, patient education, and healthy lifestyle promotion. Together with the Philippine Heart Association and the Department of Health, we support initiatives that make heart health education, early screening, and preventive care more accessible to communities nationwide.
