Don’t Ignore Loud Snoring
Think snoring is just an annoying nighttime habit?
Think again.
Loud, persistent snoring can sometimes be a sign of an underlying sleep-related breathing disorder, particularly when accompanied by:
😴 Loud or frequent snoring
⏸️ Pauses in breathing during sleep
😮 Gasping or choking during sleep
💤 Excessive daytime sleepiness
🧠 Difficulty concentrating or feeling refreshed after sleep
Sleep-related breathing disorders can affect more than your sleep. They may also have important effects on overall health.
If someone notices that you stop breathing, gasp, or choke while sleeping, don't ignore it. Talk to a healthcare professional about getting evaluated.
This World Heart Day, remember: A healthy heart also starts with healthy sleep.
