Strabismus or Cross-eyes, is a condition in which both eyes do not look at the same place at the same time. There are 6 muscles attached to each eye that receives signals from the brain to direct their movements. When there is a problem with the eye-brain connection, problems develop with eye movement control therefore, an eye may turn in, out, up or down.

Strabismus, affects more than the way we look. It also affects the way we see. When the eyes are straight, each eye sends its own picture to the brain. The brain combines these two pictures into a three dimensional image, thus creating “Depth Perception” or 3D Vision.

Vision therapy works by teaching the brain to blend the information from the two eyes (fusion). With consistent therapy, the treatment plan can align both eyes without surgery and improve visual performance and overall quality of life.
