The Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) Adolescent Medicine Division successfully held the 2nd run of its 12th HEEADSSSS Workshop: "Seeing Beyond Stereotypes: Promoting Healthy Gender Attitudes in Teens" last July 10, 2026.

The workshop brought together physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to strengthen their skills in providing inclusive, compassionate, and developmentally appropriate adolescent care. Through expert lectures, inspiring panel discussions with LGBTQIA+ youth, and interactive role-playing sessions, participants gained practical tools to conduct sensitive psychosocial assessments using the HEEADSSSS framework while fostering safe, affirming, and stigma-free healthcare spaces. Together, we continue working toward a future where every adolescent is seen, heard, respected, and empowered.

𝗣𝗖𝗠𝗖 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺

As part of its mandate as the Department of Health's National Reference Center for Pediatrics, the Philippine Children's Medical Center (PCMC) successfully conducted the PCMC–Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) Regionalization Program on June 30 to July 1, 2026, at the Western Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo City. The activity brought together healthcare professionals from both institutions for lectures, clinical mentoring, and knowledge-sharing sessions in the fields of Neonatology, Nephrology, Perinatology, Cancer and Hematology, Nursing, and Respiratory Therapy, further strengthening the delivery of specialized pediatric care in the region.

A commitment to supporting the Department of Health's Healthcare Provider Network through capacity-building, technical assistance, and institutional collaboration. PCMC extends its gratitude to the leadership and healthcare professionals of Western Visayas Medical Center for their partnership in advancing accessible, quality, and child-centered healthcare for every Filipino child.

A government-owned and controlled corporation and one of the National Centers for Specialized Health Care under the Department of Health, PCMC received high recognition for its excellence in pediatric care.
