Through the collaboration of the Department of Education – Schools Division Office of Quezon City (DepEd SDO-QC), through Pinyahan Elementary School, Flora Ylagan High School, and San Francisco High School, and the healthcare professionals of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC), quality, inclusive, and learner-centered education continues to be provided to children undergoing treatment.

Teaching is adapted to the condition and individual needs of each learner through various learning delivery modalities—including face-to-face one-on-one instruction, modular learning, online learning, and Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM).

With the continued coordination among teachers, parents, and the healthcare team, every effort is made to ensure that learning continues for every child, even while they are receiving care inside the hospital.

Sama-sama nating pangalagaan ang kalusugan ng ating mga baga. Iwasan ang paninigarilyo at secondhand smoke, panatilihing malinis ang ating kapaligiran, at huwag ipagwalang-bahala ang mga sintomas tulad ng matagal na ubo, hirap sa paghinga, at pananakit ng dibdib.

We are proud to share that the inspiring success story of Sophia, a pediatric cardiology patient of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC), has been selected as one of the Best Zero Balance Billing (ZBB) Success Stories for the Sugod Bahay – National Hospital Week 2026 ZBB Edition. 🎉

Diagnosed before birth with a complex congenital heart condition, Sophia has faced her health journey with courage and the support of her family and healthcare team.

Her story, documented and submitted by the PCMC Patients Assistance & Support Services Division (PASSD), was recognized among entries from participating hospitals for highlighting the impact of ZBB in making essential healthcare more accessible and equitable for Filipino patients.

August is Sight-Saving Month.

This August, let’s prioritize our children’s eye health. Good vision is essential for learning, development, and daily activities.

Parents can help protect their children’s vision in the following ways:

✅Limit screen time and encourage regular breaks from digital devices.
✅Promote outdoor play and daily exposure to natural light.
✅Follow the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes of screen use, look at something
about 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.
✅Schedule regular comprehensive eye examinations to detect vision problems
early, even if your child does not report difficulty seeing.
✅Early detection and timely treatment of vision problems can help ensure that
children have the best opportunity to learn, grow, and develop to their full
potential.
