— Draping is the manual process of shaping heated, softened thermoplastic sheets over a positive mold. Technicians wrap the material around a spine or limb mold, seal the seam, and use a vacuum pump to suck out trapped air so it tightly conforms to every curve before quickly trimming the excess material.
