Huwag ng hintayin ang mga sintomas ng leptospirosis. Agapan ito, magpakonsulta kaagad.

QUEZON CITY — As the water level of La Mesa Dam nears its spilling level amid the continuing rains brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), the Philippine Red Cross Quezon City Chapter (PRCQC) has immediately mobilized its response team to support ongoing pre-emptive evacuation efforts in vulnerable communities.

PRCQC responders are on the ground to assist families who may need to evacuate to safer areas, while an ambulance team has been placed on standby to provide immediate emergency medical assistance should the need arise.

The Philippine Red Cross continues to closely monitor the situation and coordinate with local authorities and disaster response partners to help ensure the safety of communities that may be affected.

If you are in a flood-prone or high-risk area, remain alert and follow the instructions of local authorities. Do not wait for floodwaters to rise before evacuating. Prepare your essential belongings, medicines, important documents, and emergency supplies.

Habang patuloy ang malalakas na pag-ulan dulot ng Habagat, maraming pamilya sa Quezon City ang napilitang lumikas upang makaiwas sa panganib ng pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa.

Sa Brgy. Bagong Silangan, agad na rumesponde and Philippine Red Cross – Quezon City Chapter (PRCQC) bilang katuwang ng Quezon City Government, sa pangunguna ng Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (QCDRRMD).

Sa Bagong Silangan Elementary School Evacuation Center, naghatid ang PRCQC ng mainit na sopas para sa mga evacuees, nagsagawa ng first aid at blood pressure consultation, at nagbigay ng doxycycline prophylaxis sa mga residenteng nalubog sa baha bilang proteksyon laban sa leptospirosis.

Samantala, nagpunta rin ang PRCQC Water Search and Rescue Team, katuwang ang barangay, sa Sitio Greenland upang matiyak kung may mga pamilyang nangangailangan ng agarang paglikas.

Sa bawat malakas na ulan, baha, at pangamba, may mga kamay na handang tumulong.

Dahil para sa Philippine Red Cross, walang sinuman ang dapat harapin ang sakuna nang nag-iisa. ❤️

Patuloy ang Philippine Red Cross Quezon City Chapter sa mahigpit na pagmamanman sa posibleng epekto ng pinalakas na Southwest Monsoon o Habagat, na nagdudulot ng tuloy-tuloy na pag-ulan sa ilang bahagi ng bansa kasama ang Metro Manila.

Bilang bahagi ng paghahanda, nakahanda na ang Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) Teams at activated ang PRC Quezon City Chapter Command Center upang agad na makatugon sa pangangailangan ng komunidad, sa pangunguna ng ating mga trained volunteers at staff.

⚠️ Iwasang lumusong o maglakad sa baha. Maaaring kontaminado ang tubig-baha ng ihi ng daga at iba pang dumi na maaaring magdulot ng leptospirosis at iba pang sakit.

🎒 Maghanda ng Go Bag na may pagkain, tubig, flashlight, gamot, first aid supplies, mahahalagang dokumento, at iba pang pangunahing pangangailangan.

🏠 Patuloy na makinig sa mga opisyal na abiso. Kung inabisuhan nang lumikas, umalis agad at pumunta sa itinalagang evacuation center.

📱 Sa oras ng pangangailangan, humingi ng tulong at agad na i-report ang mga insidente sa mga kinauukulang awtoridad.

Tandaan: Ang maagap na paghahanda, tamang impormasyon, at ligtas na pagkilos ay nakapagliligtas ng buhay. Laging tandaan ang 4Ps - Predict, Plan, Prepare at Practice.

Hinihikayat ang lahat na bigyang paalala ang mga kapamilya at komunidad na iwasan ang paglusong sa baha upang makaiwas sa leptospirosis.

Kung hindi maiwasang lumusong, magsuot ng bota, hugasan ang paa at kumonsulta agad sa pinakamalapit na Health Center para sa prophylaxis o libreng gamot pangontra sa sakit, lalo ang may sugat sa paa.

The Philippine Red Cross – Quezon City Chapter (PRCQC) Novaliches Branch warmly welcomes our newest volunteers who have chosen to share their time, skills, and compassion in the service of humanity.

Today, an Orientation for New Volunteers was conducted at the PRCQC Novaliches Branch in Novaliches District Center (NDC). The orientation introduced our new volunteers to the mission, programs, and activities of the Philippine Red Cross and prepared them for their journey of service.

The Philippine Red Cross – Quezon City Chapter successfully conducted a Mass Blood Donation Activity at the Fairview Center Mall (FCM) Activity Center, located at Commonwealth Avenue corner Dahlia Street, Quezon City.

The activity was participated in by FCM staff, mall occupants, and mallgoers who generously shared their time and blood to help save lives.

Blood donation🩸is a simple act that can make a life-changing difference. Donated blood is vital for patients who need transfusions due to accidents, surgeries, childbirth complications, severe anemia, cancer, and other medical emergencies.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the FCM Management for their valuable support and for providing a venue for this meaningful lifesaving activity. We also thank all the staff, mall occupants, and mall-goers who rolled up their sleeves and became heroes by donating blood.

🚨 "𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐀𝐇𝐈𝐌𝐓-𝐈𝐂𝐒 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠." 🚨

The Philippine Red Cross – Quezon City Chapter extends its sincere gratitude to Hon. Mayor Joy Belmonte and Ms. Maria Bianca Perez Diamante, Head of the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (QCDRRMD), for their unwavering commitment to strengthening Quezon City's disaster preparedness and emergency response capabilities through the All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT) Incident Command System (ICS) Training.

From July 27–31, 2026, PRCQC actively participated in the AHIMT-ICS Training organized by the QCDRRMD. As an active member of the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (QCDRRMC), the Chapter continuously invests in building the competencies of its responders to effectively support the city's disaster operations and planned events.

The Philippine Red Cross – Quezon City Chapter proudly congratulates Mr. Joel B. Fuentes, Chapter Service Representative for Disaster Management Service, for successfully graduating from the 2026 AHIMT-ICS Training while Ms. Maria Jonalina Sobrevilla, Emergency Response Unit Officer, who previously completed the AHIMT-ICS Training in 2024. Together, they strengthen the Chapter's pool of qualified Incident Management Team personnel capable of leading and supporting coordinated emergency operations.

The AHIMT training equips responders with advanced competencies in incident command, operations, planning, logistics, finance and administration, resource management, inter-agency coordination, and strategic decision-making under pressure. These skills enable responders to effectively manage complex incidents, integrate seamlessly with government agencies and partner organizations, and deliver faster, safer, and more coordinated emergency response during disasters and major public events.

The Philippine Red Cross – Quezon City Chapter remains committed to continuous learning and professional development, ensuring that its responders are always ready to serve with competence, compassion, and excellence.

The Barangay and Community Relations Department (BCRD), under the leadership of Mr. Ricardo B. Corpuz, successfully conducted Batch 1 and Batch 2 of the "Empowering CSO Partners: Capacity-Building for Emergency and Disaster Response."

As a partner institution, the Philippine Red Cross – Quezon City Chapter (PRCQC) supported the initiative by conducting Basic Life Support (BLS) training through its Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Caravan, equipping accredited Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) with essential lifesaving skills to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies.

Participants, composed of accredited Homeowners' Associations (HOAs) from various districts of Quezon City, were also introduced to the Red Cross 143 Program and encouraged to become PRCQC volunteers. Red Cross 143 is the Philippine Red Cross' community-based volunteer network that trains and mobilizes volunteers in disaster preparedness, first aid, health promotion, and emergency response to help build safer and more resilient communities.

Through this partnership, BCRD and PRCQC continue to empower CSOs and strengthen community preparedness, volunteerism, and resilience across Quezon City.
