As part of the Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) Caravan at the Commission on Human Rights (CHR), the Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care (PITAHC) conducted brief orientation sessions to introduce participants to the Institute's mandate, programs, and key TCIM initiatives.

The activity was graced by Hon. Judge Maria Amifaith S. Fider-Reyes (Ret.), Commissioner for the Right to Health, whose presence underscored the importance of promoting health and wellness as a fundamental human right.

Mr. Ferdinand Dayro, Health Education and Promotion Officer III (HEPO III) of the Social Advocacy and Training Division, provided participants with an overview of PITAHC, highlighting the Institute's mandate, core programs, and continuing efforts to promote safe, evidence-informed, and culturally appropriate TCIM in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Ms. Kristine Marie Gapor, Health Education and Promotion Officer IV (HEPO IV) of the Social Advocacy and Training Division, gave a brief orientation on the Department of Health's 10 Halamang Gamot. She discussed their approved uses, proper preparation, and responsible utilization as part of primary healthcare, while reminding participants of the importance of consulting a healthcare professional when necessary.

The orientation sessions formed part of PITAHC's continuing efforts to increase public awareness of TCIM and encourage informed health choices through health promotion and community engagement.

Through initiatives such as the TCIM Caravan, PITAHC continues to strengthen partnerships with government agencies in advancing holistic, evidence-informed, and people-centered healthcare for every Filipino.
