This closure is in line with our participation as part of the main organizing body of the 10th Anniversary and 7th Annual Convention of the Philippine Orthopedic Wound Care and Diabetic Limb Society.

Floodwater may look harmless, but it can be contaminated with the urine of infected animals, especially rats. Open cuts, wounds, and broken skin can provide an entry point for bacteria that cause leptospirosis.

💙 If you have a wound during flood season:

1️⃣ Avoid floodwater whenever possible.
2️⃣ Cover wounds properly with a clean, waterproof dressing.
3️⃣ Wash thoroughly with clean water and soap after flood exposure.
4️⃣ Monitor your wound for redness, swelling, pain, or unusual drainage.
