We are immensely proud to share that Dr. Marvie Aguro-Dionio was invited as the Inspirational Speaker during the 2nd Orientation of the West Visayas State University College of Medicine (WESTMED Program)โa highly selective 7-year accelerated medical program that admits exceptional students directly from high school. For many, Dr. Marvie's achievements are extraordinary. But behind every accolade is a story of discipline, perseverance, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to excellence and service.

Standing before the newest WESTMED scholars, Dr. Marvie chose not to speak merely about awards or accomplishments. Instead, she shared the realities of medical schoolโthe long nights, the setbacks, the moments of self-doubt, the sacrifices, and the resilience required to keep moving forward despite every challenge.
One of her most powerful messages was:
"Examinations measure your preparation, but they never measure your value as a person."
In a world where students often define themselves by grades and rankings, this reminder resonated deeply. Success in medicine is not about being perfectโit is about continually learning, growing, and never losing sight of the reason you chose this noble profession.
Above all, she reminded these future physicians that while knowledge and technical skill save lives, compassion heals people.
