🦴 Persistent Back Pain Could Be More Than Just Muscle Strain

Most people associate tuberculosis with lung disease. However, tuberculosis can also infect the spine, a condition known as Pott's Disease or spinal tuberculosis.

This condition occurs when the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis spreads from a primary infection—commonly the lungs—through the bloodstream to the vertebrae. When this happens, the infection can gradually damage the bones of the spine and may lead to spinal deformity, nerve compression, and even paralysis if not treated early.

According to the World Health Organization, tuberculosis continues to affect millions of people worldwide. In regions where TB remains prevalent, spinal tuberculosis is an important cause of chronic back pain and disability.

⚠️ Warning signs that should not be ignored include:
• Persistent or worsening back pain
• Fever or night sweats
• Unexplained weight loss
• Fatigue
• Progressive spinal deformity
• Weakness, numbness, or difficulty walking
These symptoms may develop gradually and are sometimes mistaken for ordinary back problems.

🚨 If you experience persistent back pain accompanied by these symptoms, it is important to SEEK MEDICAL CONSULTATION as early as possible.
Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment can prevent serious complications such as spinal deformity, nerve damage, and permanent disability.

🦴 Do not ignore persistent back pain. Early consultation with a physician can protect your spine and overall health.
