Measles and Rubella Supplementation Immunization Activity and Vitamin A Supplementation begins in Sagada!

Today, our vaccination teams started the Measles and Rubella Supplementation Immunization Activity (MR/SIA) and Vitamin A supplementation for children aged 6–59 months. The first day of the schedule covered the southern zone barangays of Suyo, Taccong, Nacagang and Ankileng, where 84 children were successfully immunized and supplemented.

This marks the beginning of our campaign, with the formal kick off program set on Monday, August 17.
The event will emphasize our collective commitment to child health and disease prevention.

By vaccinating our children, we are not only protecting them individually but also building herd immunity — a shield that helps safeguard the entire community especially our vulnerable population.

Let us continue to support this life-saving campaign and encourage all parents and guardians to bring their children for vaccination. Together, we ensure a healthier, stronger Sagada for generations to come.

This August 10–14, 2026, let us come together to give our young children added protection for a healthier future.

Through MRSIA, we aim to protect our children against measles and rubella, while Vitamin A supplementation helps support healthy vision, immunity, growth, and resistance to infections.

💚 Sama-sama para sa malusog na Sagada!
💉 Bakunado. Protektado. Panatag.

The Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) for Barangays Ambasing and Dagdag was successfully concluded at the Dagdag Barangay Hall, bringing together the constituents of both barangays in a collaborative effort to strengthen community awareness, improve access to essential government services, and promote the health and well-being of every family.

The activity was attended by representatives from various national and local government agencies, including the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Social Security System (SSS), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Provincial Engineering Office, Municipal Health Office (MHO), Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), Municipal Agriculture Office, Municipal Engineering Office, Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO), and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO). Each agency shared valuable information about its programs and services, empowering residents with knowledge and opportunities that contribute to community development.

As part of the health services offered, Dr. Oliver Umhao, DTTB, conducted free medical consultations, ensuring that community members received appropriate health assessment and medical advice. The DOH-HRH team facilitated the taking of vital signs and assisted in the completion of Individual Treatment Records (ITRs) to support an organized and efficient consultation process. Meanwhile, Ms. Yami Mayngo and Ms. Harriet Agwiking successfully facilitated the YAKAP Registration, helping eligible residents access essential government health services.

A significant part of the program was the health education session on the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MRSIA). The importance of protecting children through timely vaccination was clearly explained to the community, emphasizing that the MRSIA vaccine helps prevent serious illnesses and protects children aged 6 to 59 months from measles and rubella. Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials were distributed to reinforce the key messages, and the community was informed of the scheduled vaccination to encourage parents and caregivers to have their eligible children vaccinated.

Health Service Accomplishments:
YAKAP registered: M-3, F- 8
First Patient Encounter: M-5, F-6
Free hair cut

🩺 Blood Pressure Monitoring: 7 clients (5 Male, 2 Female)

- 2 Male clients were identified with elevated blood pressure and were advised for appropriate follow-up and monitoring.

👨‍⚕️ Medical Consultation: 11 clients (5 Male, 6 Female)

- 6 clients diagnosed with Stage 2 Hypertension (4 Female, 2 Male)
- 4 clients identified with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (3 Female, 1 Male)

These findings highlight the importance of routine health screening and early consultation to prevent complications associated with hypertension and diabetes.

The successful implementation of the RCSP demonstrates the power of collaboration among government agencies, healthcare workers, and community leaders in delivering responsive and people-centered services. More than providing information and health services, the activity strengthened the partnership between the government and the people, empowering the residents of Barangays Ambasing and Dagdag to become active participants in building healthier, safer, and more resilient communities.

Barangay Dagdag & Barangay Ambasing together with all partner agencies, extends its heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of this activity. Through unity, cooperation, and shared commitment, we continue to bring quality public service closer to every community.

The month-long Measles/Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MRSIA) this August was a key highlight of yesterday’s RCSP program. Ms. Harriet Agwiking, our RHM III, emphasized the importance and rationale of these supplemental immunizations for our children aged 6–59 months. IEC materials were distributed to guide parents and guardians, while barangay schedules were announced in preparation for the August 10 kick-off at the Municipal Grounds. With the steadfast support of our community and BLGU members, and with national health societies such as the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society of the Philippines voicing their strong support for this campaign, we stand united to protect every child and achieve high coverage in this life-saving effort.

Before July says goodbye, we'd love to leave you with a smile and a little reminder that healthy living doesn't have to be boring.

Here are some of our favorite cheesy (but healthy!) quotes. We hope they made you smile, think, and perhaps inspire one healthier choice today.

Remember, healthy choices shouldn't end with July. Let's continue to nourish our bodies, care for our minds, and build healthier habits, one step, one meal, and one day at a time.
