With this year's theme, "ASEAN UNITED: ZERO DENGUE DEATHS โ€“ A FUTURE WE BUILD TOGETHER BY 2030," the City Government of Sagay, through Sagay City Primary Care Facility and the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU), successfully conducted the Dengue Awareness Month Culmination at Taliambong Event Center, bringing together health leaders, barangay officials, and community health workers in our united commitment to prevent and control dengue.

The program was highlighted by an inspiring message from Mayor Leo Rafael Cueva, reaffirming the city's dedication to protecting every Sagaynon from dengue. We were also honored by the presence of Hon. Mel Alexis Serondo, Chairperson of the SP Committee on Health, together with the barangay captains from the city's 25 barangays.

Participants gained valuable knowledge through a series of informative presentations:
๐Ÿฉบ Dr. Keshia Tampus , CESU Medical Coordinator, discussed dengue prevention and emphasized the 5S Strategy.
๐Ÿ“Š Joanti Tolentino Melendres , CESU Nurse Coordinator, presented the latest dengue situation and surveillance updates in Sagay City.
๐Ÿš› Jeffrey Mesa , Sanitary Inspector II, shared updates on fogging operations and other vector control initiatives.
๐ŸŽฅ The program also featured dengue awareness videos, followed by the Signing of the Commitment Towards Zero Dengue Deaths by 2030, symbolizing the collective pledge of all stakeholders to build a healthier and dengue-free future.

A special highlight of the culmination was the Recognition and Awarding of Outstanding Barangays for their exemplary efforts in dengue prevention and control. Congratulations to Barangay Plaridel, Barangay Sewahon, and Barangay Colonia Divina for achieving Zero Dengue Cases in 2025. We also commend Barangay Maquiling and Barangay Bato for recording the Highest Decrease in Dengue Cases, reflecting the effectiveness of their community-based dengue prevention initiatives. May these achievements inspire all barangays to continue working together toward a dengue-free Sagay City.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the City Government of Sagay, headed by Mayor Leo Rafael Cueva and the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, for their unwavering support that made this meaningful event possible.

To all participants from the 25 barangaysโ€”our Barangay Captains, Kagawads on Health, Barangay Midwives, Barangay Sanitary Inspectors, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and other partnersโ€”thank you for your active participation and unwavering commitment to protecting our communities from dengue.

Our sincere appreciation also goes to Ma'am Maita Maraรฑon-Hansen , Administrative Officer II, the Primary Care Facility (PCF) headed by Dr. Oscar Jimenea , City Health Officer, our dedicated PCF encoders for efficiently managing the presentations, and all PCF and DOH personnel whose hard work and commitment contributed to the success of this activity.

Together, let us continue to promote the 5S Strategy, strengthen community participation, and remain united in achieving our shared vision of Zero Dengue Deaths by 2030.
