๐ฆโค๏ธDengue Awareness Month Culmination 2026โค๏ธ๐ฆ
With this year's theme, "ASEAN UNITED: ZERO DENGUE DEATHS โ A FUTURE WE BUILD TOGETHER BY 2030," the City Government of Sagay, through Sagay City Primary Care Facility and the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU), successfully conducted the Dengue Awareness Month Culmination at Taliambong Event Center, bringing together health leaders, barangay officials, and community health workers in our united commitment to prevent and control dengue.
The program was highlighted by an inspiring message from Mayor Leo Rafael Cueva, reaffirming the city's dedication to protecting every Sagaynon from dengue. We were also honored by the presence of Hon. Mel Alexis Serondo, Chairperson of the SP Committee on Health, together with the barangay captains from the city's 25 barangays.
Participants gained valuable knowledge through a series of informative presentations:
๐ฉบ Dr. Keshia Tampus , CESU Medical Coordinator, discussed dengue prevention and emphasized the 5S Strategy.
๐ Joanti Tolentino Melendres , CESU Nurse Coordinator, presented the latest dengue situation and surveillance updates in Sagay City.
๐ Jeffrey Mesa , Sanitary Inspector II, shared updates on fogging operations and other vector control initiatives.
๐ฅ The program also featured dengue awareness videos, followed by the Signing of the Commitment Towards Zero Dengue Deaths by 2030, symbolizing the collective pledge of all stakeholders to build a healthier and dengue-free future.
A special highlight of the culmination was the Recognition and Awarding of Outstanding Barangays for their exemplary efforts in dengue prevention and control. Congratulations to Barangay Plaridel, Barangay Sewahon, and Barangay Colonia Divina for achieving Zero Dengue Cases in 2025. We also commend Barangay Maquiling and Barangay Bato for recording the Highest Decrease in Dengue Cases, reflecting the effectiveness of their community-based dengue prevention initiatives. May these achievements inspire all barangays to continue working together toward a dengue-free Sagay City.
