🎙️ Hoarse Voice? Give Your Voice Some TLC! 💙
A hoarse, raspy, or weak voice can be your body’s way of saying, “I need a little rest!” It may happen after excessive talking, shouting, singing, a cold, allergies, or irritation of the vocal cords.

🌿 Take care of your voice with these simple tips:
💧 Stay well-hydrated and sip water regularly.
🗣️ Give your voice plenty of rest—avoid unnecessary talking.
🚫 Avoid shouting, yelling, and speaking over loud background noise.
🤫 Avoid whispering, which can also strain the voice.
💨 Keep away from cigarette smoke and other irritants.
☕ Limit things that may dry or irritate your throat, such as excessive caffeine or alcohol.
😴 Get enough sleep and take care of your overall health.

⚠️ When should you seek medical advice?
If hoarseness lasts more than 2–3 weeks, keeps coming back, or is accompanied by difficulty breathing or swallowing, pain, coughing up blood, or a neck lump, it’s important to have it evaluated by a healthcare professional.

❤️ Your voice works hard for you—give it the care it deserves!

Having a red eye? Don't just ignore it or rely on over-the-counter drops! 👁️🚨

A red eye is very common, but it can mean many different things. Some causes are simple, while others need immediate care from a doctor.

Common reasons for a red eye:
🔹 Eye Fatigue or Strain: Long hours on phones or computers.

🔹 Dry Eyes or Allergies: Dust, smoke, or screen exposure.

🔹 Glaucoma: Internal high pressure causing damage to the optic nerve.

🔹 Sore Eyes: Infections of the eye from viruses, bacteria or fungi

🔹 Uveitis: Non- infectious inflammation of the eye

🔹 Others: Trauma, foreign body

⚠️ Red Flags to Watch Out For:

If your red eye comes with severe pain, blurry vision, or sensitivity to light, do not wait—have it checked by a specialist right away!

💡 Tip: Avoid using random eye drops without a prescription, as they can sometimes make the condition worse.

Think 20/20 vision means your eyes are 100% healthy? Not always! 👁️

Here is a quick fact: 20/20 vision only means you can see clearly at a distance.

It does NOT tell you what is happening inside the back of your eye (your retina).

What 20/20 vision misses:
❌ Retinal health and bleeding

❌ High eye pressure (Glaucoma)

❌ Damage to your optic nerve

Many eye conditions are "silent killers of vision." They do not cause pain, and you can still see clearly in the beginning—while damage is slowly happening in the background.

💡 What should you do?

Get a comprehensive dilated eye exam once a year. Catching eye problems early is the best way to save your sight!

Did you know that diabetes is one of the leading causes of preventable vision loss worldwide?

High blood sugar levels can silently damage the tiny, delicate blood vessels inside your retina—the light-sensitive layer at the back of your eye. This condition is known as Diabetic Retinopathy.

The most challenging part? In its early stages, it often has zero symptoms. You might see perfectly clearly while damage is actively occurring. By the time blurry vision, spots, or "dark strings" appear, the condition may already be advanced.

How to protect your vision:

If you have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, a comprehensive retinal exam is recommended at least once a year.

Early detection allows us to use advanced treatments (like retinal lasers or injections) to halt progression and preserve your sight.

Don't wait for your vision to change before scheduling a checkup. Let’s protect your eyes together.

Daily ear cleaning can push wax deeper, causing painful blockages, irritation, or eardrum damage. Earwax is actually a natural protector that traps dust and bacteria, and your jaw's natural movement gradually pushes old wax out on its own.

Safe Ear Care Practices:

Skip the daily cleaning: Your ears do not need everyday intervention.

Never insert objects: Avoid keys, or hairpins inside the ear canal.

⚠️ When to See a Professional
If you experience a feeling of fullness, muffled hearing, pain, or persistent irritation, do not attempt to clear it yourself. Self-cleaning often worsens the blockage or introduces infections.

If symptoms persist or worsen, consult an ENT specialist for safe, professional removal.

Sudden changes in your vision can be startling. While many people experience occasional "floaters"—tiny specks or webs drifting across their field of vision—a sudden increase in them, especially when accompanied by flashes of light, requires immediate, specialized attention.

These symptoms can sometimes indicate a tear or detachment in the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of your eye. Early detection is everything when it comes to preserving your sight. At Mangahas EENT clinic, we utilize advanced diagnostic imaging to thoroughly evaluate your retinal health and provide precise, timely care.
