Bright Eyes for a Bright Future. Maliwanag na Paningin. Mas Maliwanag na Kinabukasan.

May Napansin Ka Bang Matingkad na Pulang Batik sa Iyong Mata? Maaring isa itong Subconjunctival Hemorrhage.

💙 National Diabetes Awareness Week 💙

A baby's vision starts out very blurry. At birth, they can only see things that are about 8–10 inches away — just the right distance to see your face while feeding. Everything beyond that looks like a fuzzy shadow.

Newborns see mostly in black, white, and gray. Colors slowly appear around 2–4 months, starting with red, green, and blue. By 5 months, babies begin to judge distance and depth. At 8–12 months, their vision keeps sharpening, but they won't reach adult-level 20/20 vision until age 3–5.

What helps their eyes and brain grow? Simple things: high-contrast patterns (like black-and-white pictures), slow movements, and lots of loving faces. Every time you play peek-a-boo or hold a toy close, you're teaching their brain how to see.

PICKELEBALL moves fast. In 0.5 seconds, the ball can reach your eyes at high speed. Close-range shots give you little time to react.

"See the ball, protect it all."

Wear wraparound goggles with polycarbonate lenses. They absorb impact and shield your eyes from sudden hits. This reduces the risk of corneal injury and retinal damage.
Stay sharp on the court. Anti-fog coatings and UV protection help you keep clear vision in every rally.

Make eye protection part of your game. Put your goggles on before you play.

World Health Day Reminder: Eye Health Is Part of Overall Health

Your eyes can reveal signs of many health conditions, including diabetes and high blood pressure.

👁️ Why regular eye exams matter:
• Detect eye diseases early
• Monitor vision changes
• Identify health-related eye problems
• Help maintain long-term eye health

Schedule regular eye check-ups—even if your vision seems fine.

PUBLIC ADVISORY FROM THE PHILIPPINE ACADEMY OF OPHTHALMOLOGY: Beware of unproven eye medicine, eye drops, and eye devices that are being peddled as a cure-all or prevention of different eye conditions. Consult your ophthalmologist for the proper care of your eyes.
