Walang pinipiling oras kapag may patient na kailangang isalba. Eto tayo ngayon, maglilipat ng patient from our Cordon Branch to Centro East Branch para sa 24-hour monitoring and proper care.

Pagod man, pero salamat Lord sa lakas na Ikaw ang nagbibigay! Your strength is made perfect in our weakness.

The “Lady Boy” Surgery — What’s a Modified Perianal Urethrostomy (MPU)?

Did you know that male cats can undergo a special surgery that changes the way they urinate — sometimes jokingly called the “lady boy” or “transgender” operation? 😸

The real name is Modified Perianal Urethrostomy (MPU), and it’s not about gender change — it’s a life-saving procedure for male cats who suffer from recurrent urinary blockages (often due to crystals, stones, or inflammation in the urethra).

Why it’s done:
Male cats have a very narrow urethra, which can easily become blocked — a painful and dangerous emergency. MPU creates a new, wider opening for urine to pass more freely, reducing the risk of future blockages.

How it works:
The surgeon carefully removes the narrow part of the urethra and creates a new exit just below the a**s. It’s called “perianal” because of the location — not because the cat changes gender!

After surgery:
Most cats recover beautifully and go on to live happy, comfortable lives — with a new “plumbing system” that keeps them safe from obstruction.

So yes — your tomcat might come home a little different, but he’ll feel much better and thank you for it (in his own way)!
