🍼 HOW BREASTMILK IS MADE

1️⃣ During pregnancy, hormones prepare the milk glands in the breasts to produce milk.

2️⃣ After birth, the hormone Prolactin signals the body to produce breastmilk.

3️⃣ When the baby suckles, the hormone Oxytocin causes the milk to flow from the milk ducts (let-down reflex).

4️⃣ Milk is made in tiny sacs in the breast called alveoli.

5️⃣ The more the baby breastfeeds or pumps, the more milk the body produces.

6️⃣ At first, the breast produces Colostrum, a thick yellow milk rich in nutrients and antibodies.

7️⃣ After a few days, mature breastmilk replaces colostrum and adjusts to the baby’s needs.

✨ Amazing fact: A mother’s body can change the composition of breastmilk to match her baby’s growth.

❤️ BABY HEART FACTS

1️⃣ Beats Fast – A baby’s heart beats 120–160 times per minute, much faster than adults.

2️⃣ Starts Early – The heart begins beating around 22 days after conception.

3️⃣ Small but Mighty – At birth, the heart is about the size of a walnut.

4️⃣ Different Circulation – Before birth, blood bypasses the lungs through the ductus arteriosus since the baby gets oxygen from the placenta.

5️⃣ Heart Sounds – You can usually hear the baby’s heartbeat by Doppler ultrasound around 10–12 weeks.

6️⃣ Growth with Baby – Heart size and strength grow rapidly during the first year of life.

💛 Tip: Regular prenatal checkups help monitor your baby’s heart health and development.

👶 ONE MONTH OLD BABY FACTS

At one month, your baby is still adjusting to the world outside the womb. Here are key things to know:

1️⃣ Reflexes Are Strong
• Rooting, sucking, and grasping reflexes help with feeding and survival.

2️⃣ Sleep Patterns
• Sleeps 14–17 hours a day, often in short stretches.

3️⃣ Vision
• Can focus on objects 8–12 inches away
• Prefers high-contrast patterns and faces

4️⃣ Hearing
• Recognizes familiar voices, especially parents’
• May startle at loud noises

5️⃣ Communication
• Communicates through crying, fussing, and cooing
• May start soft coos

6️⃣ Movement
• Moves arms and legs randomly
• Head control is still very weak

💛 Tip: Talk, sing, and gently touch your baby daily—these early interactions help build strong bonds and support development.

👶 Baby Soap vs Baby Wash (Simple Guide)
🧼 Baby Soap

✅ Usually comes in bar form
✅ Cleans dirt and oil well
⚠️ Can be more drying because soap is more alkaline
⚠️ May remove natural skin oils

🛁 Baby Wash

✅ Liquid cleanser (head-to-toe wash)
✅ Gentler and more moisturizing
✅ pH-balanced for baby’s sensitive skin
✅ Often tear-free & hypoallergenic

👉 Baby washes use milder cleansers that help keep the skin’s moisture barrier, while traditional soaps can sometimes cause dryness or irritation.

⭐ Which is Better?

👶 Newborns & sensitive skin: Baby wash (best choice)
👶 Older babies: Either is okay if mild and fragrance-free

✨ Tip: Choose soap-free, fragrance-free, and hypoallergenic products for babies.

📌 Pelvic & Fetal Presentation – Quick Guide 🤰

👶 Fetal Presentation
🔹 How baby is positioned in the womb
🔹 Cephalic – head down (most common)
🔹 Breech – bottom or feet first
🔹 Transverse – baby sideways

🦴 Pelvic Presentation
🔹 Refers to the baby’s part entering the pelvis
🔹 Head-first is safest for normal delivery
