Strengthening Breastfeeding Awareness Among Pregnant Women and Mothers

On May 19, 2026, Lariosa Clinic and Hospital Inc. (LCHI), in collaboration with the community support group and Surallah RHU, successfully conducted an information dissemination session at Barangay Upper Sepaka.

Led by the dedicated LCHI staff, the activity aimed to educate and empower pregnant women and mothers on the importance of breastfeeding and its benefits for both mother and child. The session emphasized proper breastfeeding practices, maternal and infant health, and the vital role of breastfeeding in nurturing a healthier community.

𝗡𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀.

We recently gathered community health nurses and midwives from every barangay in the Municipality of Surallah to strengthen awareness on the growing need for advanced wound care in our communities.
Through this initiative, participants were equipped with essential knowledge on proper wound assessment and the critical role of timely referrals—ensuring better care and outcomes for patients.
This program aims to support individuals suffering from various types of wounds by improving access to informed and responsive care at the community level.

Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jo Palomata for leading the team and serving as the resource speaker during this meaningful activity.

Lariosa Clinic and Hospital Inc. actively demonstrated its commitment to maternal and child health by conducting a 20-hour Lactation Management Training for clinical staff, who recently underwent a training on March 16-18 for first batch, and March 19,23-24 for the second batch.

We are the foundation of a 'Mother-Baby Friendly' environment. By learning these crucial skills—from proper positioning to supporting exclusive breastfeeding—we are not just doing a job; we are shaping the future health of our community.
Remember that breastfeeding support goes beyond clinical care. Let's continue our dedication to, and passion for, 'Caring for Communities, Caring for You.' Let’s continue to support our mothers and babies with compassion and excellence!

Most of all let's continue to maintain our accreditation as mother baby health facility initiative.

Our institution successfully conducted annual mployee general assembly on March 12 & 13, 2026.

The activity aimed to strengthen communication, promote employee engagement and update staff on important hospital programs, policies and initiatives.

The following topics were discussed:
1. Kamustahan-a brief review and assessment on employees mental health & wellness
2. Introduction of newlyhired staff- presentation & welcome of new employees by Mujanah Faith Rosal, RN
3. Hospital Calendar of Activities-updates on major upcoming trainings & initiatives by Arjan Magbanua
4. Hospital Committees & Programs- Introduction of existing Committees including the roles & responsibilities of members & officers presented by Leizyl Joy Demaraye, RN, MAN & Cristy Lissa Jane Raymundo, RMT
5. Orientation on transmission based precautions- review of proper hospital safety practices by Ginny Rose Abuan, RN
6. Incident Reporting Flow-reminders of the incident reporting process discussed by Ellen Grace Lamery
7. Hospital Policy reminders-review on general policies & guidelines
8. Recognition of employees- acknowledgment of perfect attendance employees for the year 2025 & other special award.

The assembly served as an important platform to align employees with hospital goals, reinforce workplace policies and recognize the dedication & contributions of the staff.

Lariosa Clinic and Hospital Inc. Caring Goes Beyond Clinical!

We're incredibly proud of our Non-clinical team - our administrator, security, housekeeping,billing, dietary, laboratory, pharmacy staff - who recently underwent special training (March 10) to better support our new mothers and babies. They're now even more equipped to help promote breastfeeding and create a truly mother-baby friendly space. It's a team effort to maintaining the accreditation of Mother-Baby Friendly Health Facility Initiative of the Hospital.

Last February 26, 2026, during the CQI Committee Meeting, our hospital proudly recognized the outstanding performance of departments and committees that demonstrated excellence and dedication in 2025.

The Top Performing Departments award was given to the ER/OPD/Ambulance Department and the Clinical Laboratory Department for their consistent commitment to quality service, efficiency, and patient-centered care.

For the Top Performing Committees, recognition was awarded to the Infection Prevention and Control Committee and the Hospital Blood Transfusion Committee, whose efforts greatly contributed to strengthening patient safety, compliance with standards, and continuous quality improvement within the hospital.
Several special recognitions were also presented, including the Quality Excellence Award, Best Documentation Compliance, Best Timeliness Compliance, and the Quality Commitment Award.

These awards highlight the dedication of teams who consistently uphold high standards in documentation, timely service delivery, and overall commitment to quality healthcare.

The awarded departments and committees received Certificates of Recognition and Cash Incentives as tokens of appreciation for their hard work, teamwork, and unwavering dedication throughout the year.

These recognitions reflect the collective effort of our healthcare professionals who continue to strive for excellence in service, patient safety, and quality improvement. Strengthening Breastfeeding Among Pregnant Mothers
