NEVER LET ANYONE KISS YOUR NEWBORN BABY
No matter who they are or how well they mean, don’t allow it. That innocent kiss on the cheek, forehead, or lips could put your baby’s life at risk.

A newborn’s immune system is still developing. They can’t fight infections like adults or older children. What seems like a harmless kiss can actually spread serious viruses and bacteria that are deadly to babies.
Here’s what a kiss can expose your baby to:

HSV-1 (Herpes Simplex Virus):
Cold sores in adults may seem harmless, but if transmitted to a newborn, herpes can cause severe brain damage, organ failure, or even death.

Respiratory Infections:
Common colds, flu, or COVID-19 can quickly overwhelm a baby’s fragile body, leading to breathing problems, fever, and hospitalization.

Other Oral Bacteria:
Even healthy-looking mouths carry bacteria that can trigger infections in babies with no defense.

It’s not just a kiss. It’s a risk.
You don’t owe anyone access to your baby’s face, not grandma, not aunties, not friends, not in-laws. Your baby’s safety comes first.

Tips to keep your baby safe:
Teach visitors to admire your baby without touching or kissing.

Practice good hygiene. Ask others to wash their hands before holding your baby.
Be confident in setting boundaries. Protecting your baby is not pride, it’s care.

Your newborn is precious. Guard them fiercely. One kiss can be all it takes.
