šŸ“¢Reminder, Playcare Parents šŸ“¢

At the beginning of the month, we shared our Playcare Newsletter and posted the details on the Playcare Bulletin to announce our upcoming parent coaching session. This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow is Batch 1 of our Partners in Progress: Parent Couching for Meaningful Everyday Interventions.

šŸ—“ļø: August 2
šŸ••: 1-3PM
šŸ“: Felisa’s Cafe and Restaurant

This session is exclusive to Batch 1 parents who have confirmed and registered to attend.

As our way of saying thank you for your continued trust, appreciation, and unwavering support of Playcare, this parent coaching session is completely FREE. We are excited to share practical strategies and meaningful insights that you can use in your child's everyday routines and learning.

āœļø Don't forget to bring a pen and a notebook! There will be plenty of valuable takeaways, and you'll want to jot down important notes throughout the session.

We look forward to learning and growing together with you. See you tomorrow! šŸ’™

A heartfelt thank you to Hon. Lyle Duque and Ms. Alma Genotiva from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Occupational Therapy Board for taking the time to visit our clinic today.

We truly appreciate the opportunity to walk you through our clinic, our licenses, records, policies, and the systems we have in place to ensure that we continue to provide safe, ethical, and quality Occupational Therapy services.

More than the inspection itself, it was a pleasure catching up and having meaningful conversations about the future of our profession. It was inspiring to hear about the proactive efforts to bring Occupational Therapy to more colleges and the initiative to establish a local chapter that will strengthen our community of practitioners. These conversations remind us that we all share the same goal—to help our profession continue to grow and thrive.

Thank you again, Hon. Lyle Duque, for your guidance, encouragement, and commitment to advancing Occupational Therapy. We look forward to continuing to grow together and serve our community with excellence and integrity.

If you have a teenager at home, please make room for their thoughts, feelings and questions over recent events. The tragedy happened in one school, but its emotional impact reaches far beyond. No lectures, just listen.

I’ve been mentally preparing for today, the day i get to see our teens, because i knew that in the same manner that they’ve been updating me about earthquakes, news on Artificial Intelligence, and the growth of their tiktok followers, the fatal news from last Monday would be at the top of their heads. True enough they come busting through the door with ā€œMy friend was there!ā€, ā€œi have private informationā€, ā€œGorebox is getting bannedā€.

So I gathered them in a circle. We walked through the facts, maneuvered through their anxious thoughts about going to school, ran through their personal high school experiences, asked open ended questions where they took their turn. Each one had something to say, even the ones that don’t say much often.

But the reason why I’m appealing that you talk to your teens to make sense of this situation is because, they might have a hard time grasping it in its entirety. Without guidance, some may come to conclusions that seem logical to them such as believing that carrying a g*n would make them safer if something like this happened again. Adolescents are still developing the ability to process complex, emotionally charged events.

If you don’t know where to start, here are some questions:
1. What have you heard or seen about what happened?"
2. How has everything that's happened made you feel about going to school?
3. Is there anything you've been wondering about or worrying about that we haven't talked about yet?

As adults, let's enter these conversations with an open mind. Resist the urge to jump straight into lecturing, correcting, or reassuring. Start by listening.

This is a confusing and frightening time for everyone. While we, as adults, have years of life experience to help us make sense of tragedy, our teens are still developing those frameworks.

(added some worksheets for mindfulness that you can do with your teens on the topic of safe spaces)

From May 29 to June 12, the ā€œBefore We Grow Upā€ exhibit was on display at EtAl Artspace. With the exhibit closing, I just wanted to share my perspective of all the ways we wanted to make it intentional, and the magic in the creative process as it happened. At its heart, it was always about self expression and play in art. ā¤ļø

Thank you again Etal Artspace for hosting this gallery and for making space for something so simple and meaningful. To the kids of Playcare-thank you for showing us adults that creativity doesn’t need permission, praise or proof. šŸŽ‰

Movement plays a huge part in play. As part of the ā€œBefore We Grow Upā€ exhibit, EtAl Artspace hosted their floor for a kids yoga and mindfulness session led by the Playcare Team. It was a lot of color, engagement, connection, and fun. Even made special because they were surrounded by a gallery filled with imagination and color.

Looking forward to seeing you and your little ones on the mat one day. Namaste! šŸ™

Hi Parents! 😊

Just a heads-up that we will be attaching a form along with the daily notes regarding schedule changes for when the school year resumes.

Kindly fill out the form and send it back to the clinic, or you may take a photo of the completed form and send it to my personal account. This information will help us plan and prepare our schedule for the upcoming school year.

Thank you for your cooperation! It has been a pleasure spending the summer with your children, and we look forward to implementing our school related goals with them . šŸ’•

xx,
Teacher Tim

We are soooo excited and honored to share that we have been invited to display the canvas and artwork by the Playcare kids at Etal.Artspace (šŸ“Juan Luna) — the first dedicated art gallery and exhibition space in Eastern Visayas.

ā€œBefore We Grow Upā€ is a little window into a child’s perspective. A viewfinder into the magic of being young. It’s about seeing the world with wonder, finding joy in creating, and holding onto the freedom that comes so naturally to children.

It is also creating without labels. Beyond diagnoses or definitions, we see the kids simply as kids. Expressing and creating in their own beautiful ways.

This collection captures the playfulness we’ve shared together, and we’re excited to open that world to everybody who comes to see it. More than an exhibit, we hope it reminds people to let their inner child stay a little longer: to keep playing, exploring, creating, and seeing life with child like wonder.

Thank you etal.artspace for hosting this exhibit, for opening your doors and becoming part of the village that nurtures creativity. ā¤ļø

See you!!!! šŸ‘‹

Note: To protect the privacy of the children and their families, no photos, names, or identifying details will be displayed alongside the pieces.
