PART II: Inauguration of Teen and KADA Network Centers
April 16, 2026
Tacloban City Youth Hub, CSWDO
On April 16, 2026, the City Council for the Protection of Children, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and its extension facility, the Tacloban City Youth Hub, successfully spearheaded the Inauguration of the TCYH Teen and KADA Centers.
This event is not just a simple gathering, but a meaningful milestone for everyone. It celebrates the establishment of a safe, inclusive, and child- and adolescent-friendly space where young people can freely learn, express themselves, receive guidance, and be empowered. The Teen and KADA Centers stand as a symbol of hope, protection, participation, and empowerment for every child and adolescent in Tacloban City.
This initiative reflects our shared commitment to uphold the rights of children and ensure that they are given opportunities to grow into responsible and empowered citizens. This achievement would not have been possible without the strong collaboration, dedication, and continuous support of our partner agencies and stakeholders who work with us in promoting child welfare and youth development.
With deep gratitude, the CSWDO would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the City Government of Tacloban through Hon. Alfred S. Romualdez for his continuous support in the operationalization of the Teen and KADA Centers. We also thank him for approving the repair of the Tacloban City Youth Hub and for referring our requests to different offices that contributed to repainting, repairing the damaged fence, and clearing the area behind the KADA Center. This area is planned to become a playground in the future as part of our effort to comply with the SGLG indicators.
