It's all about perspective.

When you're just starting out, 100 patients feels little and impossible but those first 100 will give you the experience and confidence.

Then you hit 1,000.

Then 5,000.

Then 10,000.

One thing I know for sure is you can't rush experience. Every consultation, every extraction, every complication teaches you something no course ever can.

Don't compare your Chapter 1 to someone else's Chapter 20.

Keep showing up.
Keep learning.

The goal is not to rush the numbers. The goal is to make every single patient count. 🤍

This is why even a small cavity should never be ignored.

A cavity may look small on the surface, but that doesn't always reflect the amount of damage hidden inside the tooth.

Unlike enamel, the dentin beneath it is softer and less mineralized, allowing tooth decay to spread more quickly once bacteria break through the outer protective layer. Because this process often occurs silently, many cavities continue to grow without causing pain or obvious symptoms.

By the time a tooth starts to hurt, the decay may have already reached the pulp—the living tissue that contains nerves and blood vessels. At that stage, treatment is often more complex and may require root canal treatment or, in severe cases, tooth extraction.

The good news is that most cavities are highly treatable when detected early. Regular dental checkups and timely treatment can preserve more of the natural tooth, reduce treatment costs, and help prevent avoidable complications.

Thinking about whitening your teeth? Here are some common questions patients ask:

✓ 𝗡𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗮 𝗯𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴?
When properly evaluated and performed by a licensed dentist, professional teeth whitening is generally considered safe.

✓ 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲-𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗼?
The final shade depends on your natural tooth color, existing stains, age, and oral habits.

✓ 𝗣𝘂𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗶 𝗯𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘀, 𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀, 𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀?
No. Whitening only works on natural teeth.

✓ 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗽𝗼𝘀?
Some patients may experience temporary sensitivity after treatment, but this is usually manageable and improves with time.

✓ 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗻𝗮 𝗯𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁?
No. Coffee, tea, smoking, and certain foods can gradually cause stains to return. Over time, teeth may become closer to their original shade again.

✓ 𝗠𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗶 𝗯𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗶 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗸𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀?
Not necessarily. Every patient responds differently, and there are limits to how much teeth can whiten.

✓ 𝗣𝘄𝗲𝗱𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗽𝗮-𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝗵𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼 𝗴𝘂𝗺 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀?
Your dentist may recommend addressing existing dental concerns first before whitening.

The most important thing to remember?

𝙏𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙝 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩. Healthy teeth and healthy gums should always come first.

𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀? 💸

After all, kung pareho namang “bunot,” “pasta,” o “root canal,” bakit minsan magkakaiba ang presyo?

The simple answer is: 𝘽𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙣𝙤 𝙩𝙬𝙤 𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚. 💯

Just because two patients need the same procedure doesn’t mean the treatment will have the same level of difficulty.

For example, a tooth extraction can be very simple for one patient.

Pero sa ibang pasyente, the tooth might be badly broken, impacted, infected, or positioned in a way that requires more time, more instruments, and a more complex approach.

Pareho silang extraction.

Pero magkaiba ang condition.

Magkaiba rin ang treatment requirements.

That’s why dental fees are not based solely on the name of the procedure.

They’re also influenced by:

🦷 The condition of the tooth and surrounding tissues
🦷 The complexity of the case
🦷 The materials that will be used
🦷 The instruments and equipment required
🦷 The time needed to complete the treatment
🦷 The clinical expertise needed to achieve a safe and predictable result

Sa dentistry, hindi siya parang restaurant menu na may iisang price para sa lahat. 👎

Every smile is unique.

Every patient has different needs.

And every treatment plan is customized based on what is actually happening inside the mouth.

That’s why a proper consultation is important.

Because before we can determine the most appropriate treatment—and its corresponding fee—we first need to evaluate your specific dental condition.

At the end of the day, you’re not just paying for the procedure itself.

You’re also paying for the diagnosis, treatment planning, sterilization protocols, quality materials, professional expertise, and the care needed to achieve the best possible outcome.

✨ Because in dentistry, one fixed price simply cannot fit every patient.

To Our Valued Patients at One Smile Dental,

We’d like to remind everyone that we are operating on a "FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS." It means that the first patient to come is the first patient to be served. This change was made to ensure fairness to all our patients—especially those who arrive early and are ready to be treated. In the past, we followed an appointment-based system, but many patients would arrive late, which caused delays and affected others who had been waiting patiently.

Please understand that some dental cases take more time than others due to their complexity or severity. Our top priority has always been the quality of care we provide—not how many patients we see in a day. We believe that rushing treatments compromises results, and that’s something we won’t do. Also, please note: If you come to the clinic and then leave to go somewhere else, you lose your place in line. We understand that things come up whether it is an emergency or not, but once you step out and other patients arrive, they will be treated first. This helps keep everything moving smoothly and fairly.

So if you're waiting, please know that we're doing our best to give everyone the same level of care. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to provide each and every patient with the highest standard of dental care.

Thank you for being a part of the One Smile Dental family! 🦷🙏🏻
