The Philippine Navy Medical Service conducted the Health Innovation Leadership Oversight Mission (HILOM) Conference on 02 September 2026 at the Manila Naval Hospital Gazebo, bringing together commanding officers and key medical personnel from major hospitals and medical dispensaries.

Presided over by COL DINO ANTHONY P FLORES MC(MNSA), The Chief Surgeon, Philippine Navy, the conference served as a strategic platform for reviewing medical service updates, addressing operational concerns, and developing responsive solutions to strengthen healthcare delivery across the naval force.

The Office of the Chief Surgeon, Philippine Navy (OTCS, PN) held the Turnover Ceremony of the Chief Veterinary Corps, PN, on 14 August 2026, as a fitting tribute to COL FELIX M ABAY II VC (GSC) for his dedicated service, leadership, and valuable contributions to the Veterinary Corps and the PN Medical Service.

The ceremony also warmly welcomed LTC JAMES B BALUYAN VC (GSC) as the newly installed Chief Veterinary Corps, PN, joining the leadership of the PN Medical Service as it continues its commitment to quality healthcare, force readiness, and mission support.

IN VIDEO| RIMPAC 2026

The Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2026, the world’s largest multinational maritime exercise, brings together naval forces from across the Indo-Pacific region and partner nations to strengthen cooperation and interoperability.

Integral to the exercise are its Medical Engagement activities, which include the Medical Symposium, Medical Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (MED SMEEs) and Breakout Sessions, Ship and Hospital Tours, and Maritime Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC).

Representing the Philippine Navy Medical Service, MAJ JOEMAR C FERNANDEZ MAC participated in these engagements, providing opportunities to exchange knowledge and best practices while strengthening multinational cooperation in naval medicine and maritime medical readiness
