In observance of Women’s Month, the Philippine Navy recognizes the role of women in leading its Medical Service across hospitals, dispensaries, and operational units/command.

At the strategic level, COL LEONOR M BERNABE MC(GSC), The Deputy Chief Surgeon Navy, COL GRACE MARIE V GARCIA MC(GSC), Command Surgeon of the Philippine Marine Corps, and MAJ ABEGAIL P BUCSIT MC as the Philippine Fleet Command Surgeon, supporting fleet-marine medical operations respectively.

COL PHAVEENA R AGUINALDO MC(GSC) leads the Manila Naval Hospital, while COL RACHEL C JUDILLA MC(GSC) heads the Cavite Naval Hospital. In the Naval Forces, LTC JOSEPHINE NONATO MC (NIF-NL), LTC JASMIN A ILIGAN MC (NIF-C), LTC IRIS ANNE S PARCON MC (NIF-ZAM), CPT MONICA ANNE B YAP MC (NIF-SL), and CPT JOBELLE ELLAINE M SINCIOCO MC (NIF-W), oversee and manage medical support in their respective areas of responsibilities. Complementing their efforts, MAJ EUNICE G MOTOS VC (VSU, NIF-CAV) plays a significant role in veterinary service support, contributing to the overall mission readiness of the Philippine Navy.

These female officers continue to serve with professionalism and a heart for naval medicine in support of the Philippine Navy’s mission.

In celebration of Women’s Month for CY 2026, OTCSN proudly embraced the theme “Empowered Women of Faith: Called to Serve with Love and Courage.”

Spearheaded by the Deputy Chief Surgeon Navy, COL LEONOR M BERNABE MC(GSC), on 19 March 2026, the activity honored the invaluable contributions of women in the Philippine Navy, most especially the women of OTCSN, while highlighting their vital role in the profession.

Through a meaningful recollection facilitated by the PN Chaplain Service Officers, MAJ ANDRES T LOMIBAO CHS and P2LT DAVID S BATAN CHS, participants were guided toward deeper spiritual awareness and personal reflection that strengthening their faith, purpose, and commitment to service.

Together, we stand as women of faith, called to serve with love, lead with purpose, and uplift one another.

IN PHOTOS | Medics to Medics (M2M) Talks

The Chief Surgeon Navy, COL DINO ANTHONY P FLORES MC(MNSA), actively participated in the annual US–PH Medics to Medics Talks last 17–20 February 2026 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Chief Surgeon is a regular member of Medical Working Group (MWG) composed of key senior officers & medical leaders from partner nations to strengthen professional collaboration and strategic coordination in military health services.

The engagement, between United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM)and AFP Medical Service brought together to design future engagement align with the requirement of both nation to synchronize and reinforce interoperability among allied and partner forces in the region.

The Philippine Navy’s participation underscores the Office of the Chief Surgeon’s commitment in advancing a modern, multi-capable, and interoperable health service support in support to naval operations.
