Hoarseness may be caused by vocal strain, infection, acid reflux, benign vocal cord lesions, or another condition affecting the larynx or voice box. An ENT specialist can examine your vocal cords, identify the possible cause, and recommend the appropriate treatment.

A mouth ulcer or canker sore usually heals within one to two weeks. Karamihan ng singaw ay hindi cancer. Pero ang sugat sa bibig na hindi gumagaling ay kailangang masuri upang malaman ang tunay na sanhi.

Magpatingin sa ENT–Head and Neck Specialist kung ang singaw ay:

• Hindi gumagaling pagkalipas ng 2 linggo
• Lumalaki o bumabalik sa parehong lugar
• Masakit, dumudugo, o may pamamanhid
• May kasamang bukol sa leeg
• Nagdudulot ng hirap sa paglunok o pagbabago ng boses

Mas mahalaga ring magpatingin kung naninigarilyo o madalas uminom ng alak.

Hindi awtomatikong nangangahulugang oral cancer ang mga sintomas na ito. Gayunman, ang persistent mouth sore o non-healing mouth ulcer ay isa sa mga warning signs na kailangang ma-evaluate nang maayos.

Recurring nosebleeds? Madalas bang mag-nosebleed—or has it been happening repeatedly for more than three weeks?

A nosebleed, medically called epistaxis, is often caused by dry air, nose picking, allergies, colds, or certain medicines. Most cases are minor. But frequent or persistent nosebleeding deserves an ENT evaluation, especially when accompanied by:

• A lump in the neck
• Ringing, fullness, or reduced hearing in one ear
• A blocked nose on one side
• Heavy or recurring bleeding

These symptoms do not automatically mean cancer. However, they can occur with serious head and neck conditions, including nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC).

An ENT–Head and Neck Specialist may recommend a nasal examination, nasal endoscopy, or imaging to identify the cause and guide the right treatment.
