๐ŸŒŸ SHINING A LIGHT ON YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿง  | RBE PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES MINDANAO DIVISION

โœจ Empowering Young Minds. Building Resilience. Inspiring Hope. โœจ

RBE Psychological Services Mindanao Division is honored to have been invited by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) of Banay-Banay as a resource speaker for the Liwanag sa Dilim Youth Movement (LDYM) โ€“ A CNSP Support Group for Leaders and Peer Counselors.

As mental health workers, we believe that empowering children and teenagers with knowledge about peer counseling and self-counseling is an important step toward building emotionally resilient, compassionate, and mentally healthy communities. ๐Ÿ’™

Through this meaningful engagement, we aim to equip young leaders with essential skills in:

๐Ÿง  Mental Health Awareness โ€“ Understanding emotions and promoting psychological well-being.

๐Ÿค Peer Support & Active Listening โ€“ Creating safe spaces where young people feel heard and valued.

๐ŸŒฑ Emotional Resilience โ€“ Developing healthy coping mechanisms and adaptive responses to life's challenges.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Help-Seeking Behavior โ€“ Encouraging young individuals to recognize when they need support and seek appropriate professional help.

โค๏ธ Empathy & Compassion โ€“ Building a culture of understanding, acceptance, and mutual support.

At RBE Psychological Services Mindanao Division, we believe that mental health advocacy begins with education, compassion, and meaningful connection.

๐ŸŒˆ Let us empower our youth to become a source of light, hope, and support for one another.

Because every child and teenager deserves to be SEEN, HEARD, UNDERSTOOD, AND SUPPORTED. ๐Ÿ’™

โœจ Together, we shine brighter. Together, we promote mental health.

โ€œ๐˜’๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ถ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ฏโ€ asks us to look at things as they are, even when they are not always easy to put into words.

In our second 3R session, we explored what truth means in our everyday lives: being honest about what we feel, what we experience, and how our actions affect ourselves and the people around us. We talked about how facing what is true can help us better understand ourselves and the situations we find ourselves in.

Truth is not about dwelling on what has already happened or defining ourselves by our past. It can be a starting point for understanding, learning, and choosing differently. When we recognize what is true about a situation, we become better able to see what we can do, what we can improve, and what kind of person we want to become.

Through 3๐˜™ ๐˜”๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ญ ๐˜‹๐˜ฆ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต ๐˜Ž๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ฑ ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ฑ๐˜บ, we are reminded that every day gives us opportunities to make choices that reflect who we are becoming.

Because knowing the truth about where we are can help us find our way toward where we want to be.

As we observe ๐–ฒ๐—Ž๐—‚๐–ผ๐—‚๐–ฝ๐–พ ๐–ฏ๐—‹๐–พ๐—๐–พ๐—‡๐—๐—‚๐—ˆ๐—‡ ๐– ๐—๐–บ๐—‹๐–พ๐—‡๐–พ๐—Œ๐—Œ ๐–ฌ๐—ˆ๐—‡๐—๐—, we are reminded of the importance of recognizing helplessness, creating spaces where people feel safe to disclose, and responding before distress becomes unmanageable.

The same attention to early warning signs matters in the face of ๐˜ค๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ฆ ๐˜ค๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜จ๐˜ฆ. Its effects on crops, food security, livelihoods, and communities show us that what we overlook today can become much harder to address tomorrow.

Changing the narrative means being willing to look at difficult realities, recognize what is already happening, and act before situations reach a point of crisis. Whether we are responding to a person in distress or a changing environment, prevention begins with awareness, timely action, and collective responsibility.

Here are the key takeaways from today's kumustahan session:

1. Su***de Prevention Awareness Day โ€” September 10
2. Reminder for the 3R participants today at 2:00 PM
3. Schedules for the rest of the week
4. Expecting a walk-in tomorrow at 11:00 AM from LGU Liloan
5. Unavailable due to SWLE
6. Checking will take longer due to the examination
7. A confirmed service request this October for a group of teachers
8. The rest of the month will be a good rehearsal for October
9. Q1: What is to be expected for the rest of the week?
10. Classes and examination
11. A number of individuals scheduling their services through the website encountered problems
12. Some were unable to book their appointments
13. This needs to be addressed as we move through the week
14. A lot of difficulties are emerging from the system
15. Our booking system does not have similar functions to Google Calendar, where clients are notified about their scheduled appointments
16. Suggestions are found in Discord
17. Finding alternatives for what can be done
18. There are no reminders or confirmations for clients, so they are reminded to manually put their appointments in their own calendars
19. Q2: How can we change the narrative?
20. Look into experiences involving loss due to su***de
21. How can a patient help herself or himself?
22. When people feel safe, they disclose
23. โ€œYou can be safe here.โ€
24. The effects of social media on young people
25. Changing the narrative means challenging ourselves to try out different spheres of influence
26. The importance of desires
27. Every su***de case involves helplessness
28. People who are on the edge of su***de find it difficult to hold space for their desires โ€” Mark Epstein
29. Engender a space for desires
30. We are past the midway point of the year
31. A scientific climate prognosis suggests that we have lost our chance to take climate actions that will change the course of our warming planet
32. We are already losing 2 billion worth of grain or palay according to the DFA
33. Employing an early warning system before things become too dark and unmanageable
34. Being aware of the help that is needed before the situation becomes dire
35. Upcoming birthday
36. Crops are being affected by climate change, which can lead to food shortages
37. Our stewardship has failed miserably as stewards of creation; we have done a poor job collectively
