Ready, Set, Resuscitate! The 2026 National CPR Day Caravan was on the move.

The Adela Serra Ty Memorial Medical Center - Health Emergency and Disaster Management Unit (HEDMU) dropped by school campuses to turn students, teachers, school staff and parents into lifesavers.

In line with the 2026 National CPR Day on July 17, 2026 with theme "Estudyante't Titser, sa barangay, ating mga lifesaver!" ASTMMC HEDMU Basic Life Support Trainers conducted a week-wide school to school CPR Caravan in the schools of Tandag City on July 13-17, 2026. A big high five to our school partners for giving us after-school time to conduct this activity.

To save a life with CPR, always remember to do S.A.G.I.P.:
S - Survey the scene and check the situation
A - Assess the victim
G - Get help and call local emergency hotline
I - Initiate compression
P - Place the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) pads if available

By bringing this training directly to campuses, we are preparing our students to be the first responders in their homes and communities. Because cardiac emergencies don't wait—and neither should we.

When someone collapses, people gather. Some panic. Some call for help.
But in those critical moments before emergency responders arrive, one question remains:

In observance of the 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐏𝐑 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the 𝐀𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚 𝐓𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐌𝐌𝐂), through its 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 (𝐇𝐄𝐃𝐌𝐔), conducted a 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤-𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬-𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐏𝐑 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 across various schools in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur from July 13-17, 2026.
This year’s theme, “𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞’𝐭 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐬𝐞𝐫, 𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲, 𝐀𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐠𝐚 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫!”
This initiative allows young students and teachers learned a skill that could one day save a life.
𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬.
CPR is not only for doctors, nurses, and emergency responders. It is a skill that anyone can learn. Regardless of age, gender, or profession, every person has the potential to become someone’s chance at survival.
After all, when emergency happens, the first responder is often not the one in uniform.

Ayon sa DOST-PAGASA, inaasahang magla-landfall ang Typhoon Uwan sa katimugang bahagi ng Isabela o hilagang bahagi ng Aurora bukas ng gabi o Lunes ng madaling araw.

Kasalukuyan ding nasa Typhoon category ito ngunit inaasahang lalakas pa at magiging ganap na super typhoon sa mga susunod na oras.

Sa mga ganitong panahon, tumataas ang panganib ng pagkakasakit. Dahil dito, mahalagang tiyakin na may handa at kumpletong medicine kit ang bawat tahanan para agad matugunan ang mga simpleng karamdaman.

Buuin ang medicine kit na parte ng inyong Emergency Go Bag!

CODE BLUE Alert 🔵🔵🔵

🚨DOH, ITINAAS ANG CODE BLUE ALERT SA BUONG BANSA, KAUGNAY NG PANANALASA NG BAGYONG TINO 🚨

Bunsod ng lawak ng epekto ng bagyong , itinaas ni DOH Sec. Ted Herbosa ang CODE BLUE alert sa mga pasilidad at operasyon ng DOH sa buong bansa. Ito ay kasunod din nag pagdedeklara ng Pangulong Marcos Jr. ng National State of Calamity.

Sa ilalim ng Code Blue Alert status, heightened-alert ang buong Department of Health, kanilang ang regional offices at health facilities.

✅Naka-deploy na ang karagdagang health personnel sa mga evacuation center at pansamantalang health facility sa mga lugar na sinalanta ng bagyo.

✅Naka-preposition ang mga gamot, medical supplies, at mobile response teams para umalalay sa mga lokal na pamahalaan

✅ Activated ang Operations Center (OPCEN) at Health Emergency Management Staff (HEMS) para sa mabilisang koordinasyon para sa emergency response

Nakaantabay na rin sa deployment ang tatlong Philippine Emergency Medical Assistance Team (PEMAT) na kinikilala ng World Health Organization (WHO) na may kakayahang magserbisyo bilang outpatient department o magtayo ng pansamantalang hospital tents sa oras ng sakuna.
