Today is National Cancer Survivors Day!

National Cancer Survivors Day® is an annual worldwide Celebration of Life that is held on the first Sunday of June. This is held to:
- acknowledge the cancer survivors in the community,
- raise awareness of the ongoing challenges cancer survivors face because of their disease,
- and – most importantly – to celebrate life.

Patients with cancer do not have to make the journey alone. We are here as your team:
1. to provide you with care, comfort, support, guide and help.
2. to assist you step by step. 🫶

National Dengue Awareness Month is observed every June by virtue of Proclamation No. 1204 on April 21, 1998 by then President Fidel V. Ramos.

Let's all be reminded to put into practice the 4S strategy and be protected. 🦟

1. Search and destroy mosquito breeding sites.
2. Secure self-protection measures like wearing long pants and long-sleeved shirts, and use of mosquito repellents.
3. Seek early consultation.
4. Support fogging/spraying.

Dengue prevention is everyone’s responsibility. By working together to keep our surroundings clear of mosquito breeding sites, we can significantly reduce the spread of the virus. 💚

Salamat healthcare heroes! 🫡

💚 Proclamation No. 96 was issued on April 14, 1987, by President Corazon C. Aquino. It declares May 7 as "Health Workers' Day" in the Philippines.
💚 The proclamation aims to recognize and honor the contributions of health workers in various settings, including hospitals, factories, communities, and health centers.
💚 It acknowledges the vital health services provided by these workers and emphasizes the need to enhance their sense of worth and dignity.
💚 And in April 6, 2010, under President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, it became Health Workers Day Act under Republic Act Number 10069.

Every drop counts and every donor matters. 🩸

Last Wednesday, with the partnership with Philippine National Red Cross - Tarlac Chapter, we were gifted with 5,750 cc of whole blood from volunteer donors. We are incredibly grateful for your priceless act and for your selfless support.

As we bid farewell to April 2026 yesterday, we used this opportunity to reach out to our barangay health workers and to share our knowledge, experience and expertise with cancer. 🫶

April 2026 is the 9th year of the first Radiation Oncology Department in the City of Tarlac and at the same time April is National Cancer Prevention & Early Detection Month and National Cancer Control Month. We celebrated it with a Cancer Caravan held at the Executive Board Room of our Municipal Hall. 📢

We thank Dra. Sheila Sobredo-Demecillo 🩺, one of our medical oncologists, Dr. Jared Trent Matthew Chua 🩺, one of our cancer surgeons, and Dr. Jose Roel Resubal 🩺, our Radiation Oncology chairman, for giving us your time and for being our key speakers yesterday. We also thank the Radiation Oncology family of JMC ☢️ for being the host, the City Health Office for helping us organize and for the municipal workers who helped us with the venue. We also thank ButterWorld Superbakeshop 🍞 for the snacks and PGT Caravan of Services for the free massage 💆. To all who made this event possible, to our IT staff and other personnel who helped us logistically, thank you. And most of all, thank You, from whom all blessings flow. 🙏

Today is Labor Day, and we thank and appreciate all the working force and may we continue to hand in hand have a heart of service for our fellow Tarlaqueños and beyond. As in us, 💚

On our 23rd anniversary, which coincides with sacred Maundy Thursday, may we ponder on these 3 key aspects during this special day: 💚
1. Jesus' act of service: He washed the feet of His disciples, demonstrating profound humility and servitude just before His arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane.
2. Mandatum: "Maundy" is from the Latin word "mandatum", referencing Jesus' words in John 13:34-35 commanding His followers to love others as He did.
3. Communion: Jesus established the sacrament of Holy Communion during His final meal with His apostles.
