Nutrition Month 2026

With the inspiring theme, "Pagsibol ng Bagong Ako," the DATRC CALABARZON, spearheaded by Mr. Francisimo M. Vince Cruz, successfully celebrated the Nutrition Month with our outpatient and aftercare patients, emphasizing that meaningful transformation does not happen overnight; begins with small, consistent steps rooted in healthy choices, self-care, and hope.

This meaningful celebration was made possible through the collaboration with the Provincial Office of Cavite, KOICA, and PhilKOFA, whose generous sponsorship of gardening kits reinforces our shared commitment to environmental stewardship, food security, nutrition sustainability, and accessible sources of healthy food.

Our participants were empowered through informative and engaging lectures:

๐Ÿฅ— "Eat Well, Heal Well" by Marydel L. Pili, RND, Nutrition Officer II, highlighting the vital role of proper nutrition in recovery and overall wellness.

๐ŸŒฟ "Caring for Yourself, Caring for the Earth" by Liberty G. Guzman, RND, MPH Nutritionist-Dietitian II, emphasizing that caring for our environment goes hand in hand with caring for our health.

๐Ÿฆท Oral Health Education by Dra .Cristina Lim, reminding everyone that a healthy smile is an essential part of a healthy body and a better quality of life.

๐ŸŒฑ Dessa May Alibangbang, RND, MPH, Nutrition Officer III, further inspired participants by discussing the importance of home gardening and demonstrated how the provided garden kits can become sustainable sources of nutritious food for every household.

The highlight of the activity was the distribution of gardening kits, symbolizing not only the planting of vegetables but also the planting of healthier habits, resilience, and renewed hope for every participant.

Together, we continue to nurture healthier individuals, stronger communities, and a greener future.

IDADAIT Celebration with Cavite State University | June 26, 2026

Our team celebrated the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) at Cavite State Universityโ€“Trece Martires City Campus by facilitating educational discussions that promoted drug prevention, mental health awareness, and informed decision-making among students.

The activity featured discussions on Drug Addiction as a Disease, Mental Health Awareness, and emphasized the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act No. 9165). These topics aimed to equip students with accurate information on the effects of substance use, the importance of mental well-being, and the legal framework supporting drug prevention and rehabilitation in the country.

Participants also took part in a movement therapy session, which encouraged self-expression, emotional wellness, and active engagement.

Observed every 26th day of June, the said celebration serves as a global call to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving a world free from drug abuse. This highlights the importance of prevention through education, promotes evidence-based interventions, and encourages communities to work together in supporting individuals and families affected by substance use.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Cavite State Universityโ€“Trece Martires City Campus for the opportunity to be part of this meaningful celebration and for its continued commitment to fostering informed, healthy, and drug-free communities.

2nd Quarter Family Conference cm IDADAIT Celebration

The 2nd Quarter Family Conference, held in line with the observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT), brought together outpatient and aftercare patients, along with their families, for a meaningful day of learning, reflection, and support.

The program commenced with an invocation led by Kuya Melvin, followed by the welcome remarks of Mr. Angelo, Psychologist III of DOH-DATRC CALABARZON, who emphasized the importance of family involvement in the recovery journey.

A timely and thought-provoking discussion entitled "How to Sabotage Your Treatment?" was facilitated by Mr. Davis, encouraging participants to recognize behaviors and challenges that may hinder recovery.

The activity was further enriched by an inspiring intermission number by Kuya Paul, who shared his personal journey through addiction, and a heartfelt testimony from Kuya Melvin, highlighting the value of hope, perseverance, and sustained recovery.

The program concluded with a feedback session for family members, providing an opportunity to share insights, strengthen family support, and reinforce the collective commitment to recovery and healing.

Together, we continue to promote awareness, recovery, and the vital role of families in building healthier, drug-free communities.

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ Embracing Diversity, Cultivating Safe Spaces ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

At DOH-DATRC CALABARZON, we believe that true recovery and wellness can only flourish in an environment built on acceptance, respect, and deep understanding. This Pride Month, our team actively stepped out to strengthen our commitment to inclusive care.

Hereโ€™s a look at how we celebrated and learned this June:

๐Ÿง  Q***r Mental Health Conference 2026: Members of our GAD Committee attended this groundbreaking conference at Ateneo de Manila University. We dived deep into the current state of the LGBTQIA+ community in the Philippines and explored the latest local research on q***r mental health. Continuous learning allows us to better tailor our interventions for diverse populations.

๐Ÿ“ธ Pride in Recovery: Back home at DATRC CALABARZON, we held a mini-celebration! Our staff engaged with colorful, informative LGBTQIA+-themed infographics and attire, capturing moments together to show that our facility stands as a safe, affirming space for all.

We return to our Center with sharper tools, broader perspectives, and a renewed dedication to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and gender-affirming care to everyone we serve.

We have Pride in recovering hope and renewing lives.

In support of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) Celebration, our team was honored to be invited and welcomed by the Naic Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP) staff and Provincial Health Office as resource speakers for an educational session attended by Person Who Use Drugs (PWUDs) held at Naic Municipal Health Office.

The activity provided an opportunity to strengthen their understanding of substance use disorders, promote mental wellness, and encourage healthier lifestyle choices. The discussions emphasized that recovery is possible through awareness, support, and access to appropriate interventions.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Naic CBDRP and the Provincial Health Office for the opportunity to be part of this meaningful celebration and for its continued commitment to promoting a healthier, drug-free, and more resilient community.
