Ngayon ko lang naranasan ang pakitaan ako ng birth certificate para patunayan na ako ang nagpaanak. Pirmado ko nga! 🩷😁

Back story.
Dumating si Mommy A kanina para magpa prenatal. Bago ang OB form na nilagay ng secretary ko. Nakapatong sa old record na hindi ko napansin. Hindi pamilyar ang apelyido ni Mommy A sa akin. Kaya tinanong ko pang-ilang baby, kailan ang LMP, etc. Mga routine sa history taking. Pagsabi niyang pangalawa na, tinanong ko kailan last nanganak, kung NSD ba o CS. Sakto binabasa ko na ang old record niya. Nakita ko 2019 complete prenatal niya sa akin mula first trim hanggang 39 weeks not yet in labor. Last entry.

Mommy A (paraphrased): Sa RPGMC po ako nanganak. Kayo po nag CS sa akin.

Me: Really? Bakit kita na CS? Naglabor ka?

Mom A: Ayaw po bumuka. Ilang araw bago ako na CS.

Me: Ano ang timbang ni baby?

Mom A: 4.325 po.

Me: What?? Pinaglabor kita na 4kg ang baby mo?

Binuksan ni Mommy A ang bag, may kinuha sa isang envelope.

Mom A: Doc ito po.

Photocopy ng NSO birth certificate pirmado ko! 😅

Weight of baby: 3,425grams

Muntik na akong matunaw ng slight kung pinaglabor ko siya pagkatapos ang timbang pala ni baby 4kg. 😁

I was so surprised na first time ko ulit siya makita since 2019. Now she is using her married name na kaya di ko siya narecognize agad esp so she is wearing a face mask.

We both had a great laugh. She came prepared. 😀😀😀 And my natural facial recognition system failed me😅

“The Philippine Pediatric Society (PPS) has officially recommended that children 16 years old and younger should not have unsupervised social media access.

The Philippine Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (PSDBP) expresses its full support for the Position Statement on Social Media Use in Children and Adolescents recently issued by the Philippine Pediatric Society (PPS).

As specialists in child neurodevelopment and behavior, PSDBP members are among the clinicians who directly observe and manage the consequences of unregulated social media use in young patients.

Anxiety, emotional dysregulation, sleep disturbance, and worsening behavioral and developmental symptoms are among the presentations we encounter in clinical practice. These are not theoretical risks but clinical realities documented in our consultation rooms daily.

The PPS position — recommending that children 16 years of age and below should not have unsupervised social media access — is consistent with the neurodevelopmental evidence and with what our subspecialty witnesses in practice.

Children and adolescents with existing developmental, behavioral, and mental health needs are among those most vulnerable to the harms of unregulated digital exposure.

PSDBP affirms that the protection of children in digital spaces is a shared responsibility — among families, schools, health professionals, platform developers, and policymakers.

We stand with PPS in calling for stronger, evidence-informed safeguards for Filipino children online.”
