𝐂𝐕𝐌𝐂 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲

Earlier today, the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC), through the collaborative efforts of the Pulmonary Unit and the Health Education and Promotion Office of the Public Health Unit, in partnership with the Philippine College of Chest Physicians-Northeast Luzon Chapter, held a Tree-Planting Activity in Lannig, Solana, Cagayan to mark the conclusion of the National Lung Month observance.

In her message, Dr. Jena Lynn Alan, Head of the Pulmonary Unit, emphasized that the activity goes beyond planting trees for the environment, as it also symbolizes the promotion of healthier lungs and the planting of hope and dreams for a better future.

CVMC employees actively participated in planting 53 trees, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to the health promotion framework strategy priority areas, particularly environmental health, and aligning with the Department of Health’s 8-Point Action Agenda.

As part of the National Lung Month celebration, the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC), through the collaborative efforts of the Pulmonary Unit and the Health Education and Promotion Office of the Public Health Unit in partnership with the Philippine College of Chest Physicians-Northeast Luzon Chapter, organized a ZumBAGA activity on August 22, 2025, at the CVMC Multipurpose Hall.

The activity featured a breathing exercise led by Mr. Elorde Bruno, followed by a Zumba session facilitated by Mr. Janlerry Naelgas, with enthusiastic participation from CVMC personnel across various divisions, including Medical Center Chief II, Dr. Cherry Lou M. Antonio.

In his message, Dr. Stanley T. Agor, Chief Medical Professional Staff II, highlighted the importance of caring for both the lungs and the body. “As healthcare workers, we must also care for ourselves and set an example as advocates of health and wellness to our families and communities,” he said.

Dr. Jena Lynn M. Alan, Head of the Pulmonary Unit, thanked participants for their active involvement and encouraged everyone to invest in health through physical activity, noting that “small progress is still progress for lung health.”

❗️DOBLE ANG PANGANIB NA MAGKAROON NG TB KUNG NANINIGARILYO O GUMAGAMIT NG VAPE❗️

Mas mataas ang posibilidad na magka-TB ang mga taong naninigarilyo at gumagamit ng v**e. Bukod dito, pinapalala ng sigarilyo ang kalagayan ng mga may TB, na pwedeng humantong sa pagkamatay. Nawawala rin ang bisa ng gamot laban sa TB kung naninigarilyo ang pasyente.

The CVMC TB DOTS Unit continues to provide FREE and comprehensive TB services, including:

❗️TUBERCULOSIS PREVENTIVE TREATMENT, NAPATUNAYANG EPEKTIBONG PROTEKSYON SA TB❗️

Ang Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment o TPT ay isang gamot na ibinibigay sa taong na-expose sa isang Tuberculosis (TB) patient.

Mabilis ang transmission o pagkalat ng TB dahil maaaring maipasa ito sa pag-ubo, pagbahing at pagdura.

Ang TPT ay napatunayang mabisa at ligtas na paraan para maprotektahan ang mga high-risk individuals at mapigilan ang pagkalat ng TB.
