Another successful TB Active Case Finding (ACF) through Free Mobile Chest X-ray was conducted for the Bugabungan Cluster, covering Brgy. Bugabungan, Brgy. Kabakaba, and Brgy. Bungcog, with the activity held at Brgy. Bugabungan.

We are deeply grateful to the BLGU of Brgy. Bugabungan, headed by Barangay Chairman Hon. Romeo Roxas, for their unwavering support and valuable assistance in making this activity a success. 🤝💙

Through strong community partnerships and accessible screening, we continue to bring TB services closer to our people and strengthen our efforts toward a TB-free Upi.

Bringing essential health services closer to our GIDA communities! 💚

The Rural Health Unit of Upi successfully conducted a Health One-Stop Shop in Brgy. Renede, one of the Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) of the Municipality of Upi.

Through this activity, our community members were able to access various medical and non-medical services in one place:

• PhilHealth YAKAP Registration
• Subdermal Implant Insertion
• Immunization
• Health Educations on:

Dengue Awareness
Smoking Cessation

Family Planning through Usapang Family Planning Sessions

• Population Office Consultations

This activity is a testament to our commitment to making accessible, responsive, and comprehensive healthcare services available even to our farthest communities. 💚

RHU UPI welcomed the MOH–CRDP Team for the Supportive Supervision, Monitoring, Coaching, and Initial Validation for the Red Orchid Awards.

The activity focused on strengthening the implementation of our Smoking Cessation Program, providing technical guidance, and identifying opportunities to further improve our to***co control efforts.

AUGUST 5, 2026 | WASH UPDATE
ACTION KONTRA DENGUE!

On August 5, 2026, the Office of the Environmental Health and Sanitation of RHU Upi, in collaboration with the Municipal Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (MESU), conducted Action Kontra Dengue activities at the 57th Infantry Masikap Battalion, Camp Edward, Mirab, Upi, Maguindanao del Norte.
The activity included:

Chemical spraying to control mosquitoes;
Search and destroy operations targeting mosquito breeding sites; and
Health education emphasizing the importance of maintaining clean surroundings to prevent dengue and other diseases.
The WASH and MESU programs remain committed to disease prevention by promoting environmental sanitation and ensuring the health and safety of the community.
The activity was led by Kim Ivan J. Usi, EMT, FSCO, Rural Sanitation Inspector I, and Jesson B. Legasa, RN, Municipal Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (MESU) Focal Person.

As part of our commitment to public health, we remain ready to respond to environmental health and sanitation concerns at any time.

Collaboration remains at the heart of effective public health governance.

The Rural Health Unit of Upi successfully conducted the Joint Local Health Board (LHB) and Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) Meeting, presided over by our Municipal Health Officer, DR. HIDAYAH E. MACA-AGIR, RPm, as the Co-Chairperson of the Local Health Board. The meeting brought together our partners and stakeholders in health and nutrition, reaffirming a shared commitment to improving the well-being of every Upian.

Present during the meeting were Hon. Neil Platon, Chairperson of the Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Health; Barangay Chairpersons from the different barangays of Upi; representatives from UNICEF, MSSD, DBTSDH, the Mayor’s Council, and members of the Expanded Local Health Board and Municipal Nutrition Committee.

A major highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the 2026 Semi-Annual Accomplishments by the National Deployment Program (NDP) focal persons, showcasing the progress of the municipality’s health programs and the collective efforts of our dedicated healthcare workforce.

The body also discussed emerging health concerns affecting the municipality, identified gaps and implementation challenges, provided updates on the Rural Health Unit, Upi Primary Care Facility (PCF), and the other 5 birthing clinics, and aligned plans for the upcoming health and nutrition activities to ensure coordinated and responsive service delivery.

Every discussion, every recommendation, and every decision made during this meeting reflects our shared vision of building a healthier, more resilient, and better-nourished Municipality of Upi.

The Rural Health Unit of Upi extends its sincere gratitude to all partner agencies, local officials, and stakeholders for their unwavering support and invaluable collaboration. Together, we continue to strengthen our health system, empower our communities, and create a future where quality healthcare and nutrition are accessible to every family.
