YAKAP: Strengthening Partnerships, Improving Healthcare

Valderrama Municipal Hospital participated in the Workshop on Strengthening YAKAP Implementation for Province-Owned Hospitals held on September 23–24, 2026, at the 3rd Floor, Provincial Health Office, San Jose de Buenavista, Antique.

Representing VMH were Dr. Estelita C. Maguad, MD, Chief of Hospital I; Dr. Gerlie Joy L. LoraΓ±a, MD, Medical Officer III; Mrs. Olive Grace C. Sumacay, RN, OPD Nurse; Ms. Remia P. Pagunsan, RPh, Pharmacy II; Ms. Stella A. Pagayonan, RMT, Medical Technologist II; and Mr. Christopher Lumaban, RRT,Radiologic Technologist I / YAKAP ENCODER

The two-day workshop provided a valuable opportunity to enhance our understanding, strengthen coordination, and share meaningful insights toward the effective implementation of the YAKAP Program.

Serving with Compassion, Strengthening Access

Valderrama Municipal Hospital was honored to welcome the MAIFIP Monitoring Team for the on-site visit and monitoring of the Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients Program (MAIFIP) – Implementation of Partner Health Facility.

We are truly grateful for this opportunity to reflect on our implementation, strengthen our processes, and continuously improve the assistance we provide to patients who need it most.

Our heartfelt thanks to the MAIFIP Monitoring Team, IPHO, and PDOHO staff for their time, guidance, valuable insights, and recommendations. Your support inspires us to continuously improve and provide better service to our patients.

September 9, 2026 | From Achievements to Action: Moving Forward Together

Valderrama Municipal Hospital came together for another meaningful and productive monthly staff meeting, presided over by our Chief of Hospital, Dr. Estelita Castillon Maguad.

The meeting was a time to reflect on our recent successful hospital licensing, discuss the deficiencies noted during the assessment, and identify the steps we can take together to continuously improve our services. Preparations for the upcoming Cluster Meet and Civil Service Commission (CSC) Celebration were also discussed.

This success would not have been possible without the dedication, cooperation, and teamwork of our hospital staff and department heads. Each one contributed in their own way, and every effortβ€”big or smallβ€”helped make this achievement possible. Thank you for always showing up, working together, and giving your best for our hospital and our patients.

A special appreciation and commendation goes to our Records Section, headed by Vannessa Joyce Rico-Gono, for their prompt, organized, and efficient retrieval of documents during the licensing process. Your preparedness and quick response truly made a difference and helped the licensing process run smoothly.
