๐ŸŒธ Successful Tumor Board Conference! ๐ŸŒธ

The Department of Family and Community Medicine successfully conducted its Tumor Board Conference, "Between Hope and Heartbreak: A Palliative Care Journey Through Breast Cancer and Pregnancy."

The conference brought together specialists from Family Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Care, Medical Oncology, and Obstetrics and Gynecology in a multidisciplinary discussion of a complex clinical case. Through the collaborative exchange of perspectives, participants explored patient-centered, evidence-based approaches that balanced oncologic treatment, maternal-fetal considerations, and palliative care principles.

Thank you to our moderator, reactors, presenter, and all participants for a meaningful multidisciplinary discussion that reinforced our commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿค

In celebration of World Hepatitis Day 2026, the Department of Family and Community Medicine, in collaboration with the VMC Public Health Unit, conducted a Hepatitis Awareness Lecture at the VMC Outpatient Department.

The activity sought to educate patients and community members about hepatitis, including its various types, methods of transmission, common signs and symptoms, and effective strategies for prevention and early detection. By promoting health education and awareness, we hope to encourage individuals to take proactive steps in protecting their liver health and reducing the burden of hepatitis in our communities.

We would like to recognize and thank our 2nd-year resident, Dr. Ma. Lealyn Reyes, for facilitating this informative session and helping promote awareness on hepatitis prevention and liver health.

Let us continue to strengthen our commitment to hepatitis prevention through informed choices, timely screening, and community awareness.

Empowering our community through diabetes education and multidisciplinary care. ๐Ÿ’™

The Department of Family and Community Medicine of Valenzuela Medical Center proudly participated in the Diabetic Symposium 2026: "Complications of Diabetes" held on June 24, 2026, at the Barangay Gen. T. De Leon Function Hall.

We extend our gratitude to the GTDL Diabetic Club and the Sangguniang Barangay ng Gen. T. De Leon for organizing this meaningful community initiative and for their continued commitment to promoting healthier lives.
