Earlier today, the Philippine Christian University – Master of Arts in Nursing successfully conducted the webinar “From Burnout to Balance: Empowering Nurses in Modern Healthcare” via Zoom, bringing together nurses and healthcare professionals committed to promoting well-being in the healthcare workforce.

The webinar featured insightful discussions from Dr. Sheila May Aduviso, General and Adult Psychiatrist, and Dr. Paul Billuan, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, who shared practical strategies on recognizing burnout, fostering resilience, prioritizing self-care, and creating healthier work environments.

Thank you to the organizers, speakers, and all participants for making this meaningful learning experience possible. May today’s discussions inspire us to continue caring for ourselves as we care for others, because healthy nurses build stronger teams and deliver better patient care.

On June 29, 2026, ProCare Psychosocial Support Management Inc. successfully convened its Stakeholders’ Meeting at the Tower 1 Multipurpose Hall, Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC), bringing together partner agencies to strengthen collaboration in mental health care.

ProCare is a community-based initiative of the ZCMC Department of Psychiatry dedicated to supporting caregivers and families of individuals with mental health conditions through psychosocial support, education, and community partnerships.

The meeting was formally opened by Dr. Nadia M. Paber, Department Chairman. Also in attendance were Dr. Afdal Kunting, Medical Center Chief; Dr. Sheila May Aduviso, Assistant Training Officer; Ms. Antonietta Escandar, Head of the Psychological Services Unit; and Mr. Rolf Marcus Villano.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our valued stakeholders from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Health (DOH), Philippine National Police (PNP), Commission on Human Rights (CHR), City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for their unwavering support and commitment. Together, we identified priority needs, explored collaborative initiatives, and reaffirmed our shared vision of building an integrated network of care for individuals with mental health conditions, their families, and our communities.

The newly identified ProCare officers also took their Oath of Office, administered by Dr. Aduviso. The meeting concluded with the Stakeholders’ Commitment Signing Ceremony, symbolizing our collective pledge to promote accessible, compassionate, and evidence-based mental health services.

🕊️ 𝗜𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗿. 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼 𝗣. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗼, 𝗙𝗣𝗣𝗔, 𝗜𝗠-𝗔𝗣𝗔†

Today, we remember Dr. Casto P. Hermino, our beloved Past Department Chairman, whose vision and dedication helped establish the Psychiatry Residency Training Program at Zamboanga City Medical Center.

A pioneering psychiatrist, respected mentor, and compassionate leader, he devoted his life to advancing psychiatric education and mental health services throughout the Zamboanga Peninsula.

His influence continues to live on through the generations of psychiatrists he trained, the patients he served, and the department he helped build.

Though he is deeply missed, his legacy remains a guiding light for all of us.

Forever remembered.
Forever grateful.
