DOH MONITORING VISIT: NATIONAL VOLUNTARY BLOOD SERVICES PROGRAM

Zamboanga Puericulture Maternity and Children’s Hospital, recently underwent the official monitoring and assessment by the Department of Health, Zamboanga Peninsula Center for Health Development for our Blood Station under the National Voluntary Blood Services Program.

This activity aims to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards, proper facility operations, and the delivery of safe, quality blood services for our patients and community.

We have officially concluded our Nutrition Month observance with an informative health lecture led by our very own Hospital Dietitian, Desiree Pantaleon, RND for sharing practical tips on proper nutrition and balanced eating for all ages.

We also took this moment to recognize and honor our Outstanding Nurse Awardee Ms Armida Mondok, RN for commending her dedication, compassion, and exceptional contributions to quality patient care here at ZPMCH.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Yakult Zamboanga for joining us! They presented an educational video on gut health and generously distributed Yakult products to our staff and seeing the smiles and joy on the children’s faces made the celebration even more meaningful.

Bridging Communities, Expanding Care: Renewing Our Partnership for Better Health

We are proud to formalize the renewal of our partnership with West Metro Medical Center through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) last July 21, 2026, under the Strengthening Access and Linkages for Universal and Diverse Wellness (SALUD) initiative.

This agreement was signed by our President and Medical Director Rodelin M. Agbulos, MD, and Hospital Administrator Fatima Rogelia D. Dulin, MN, RN, together with the OIC Administrator Danilo Canda.

For years, we have stood together to bring quality healthcare closer to the communities we serve. This renewed commitment strengthens our shared goal: to expand healthcare access, build stronger community linkages, and deliver responsive, compassionate, and patient-centered services to every family in Zamboanga City.

Day 3: Mastering Skills, Celebrating Excellence – Basic IV Therapy Training

Today marks the final and most critical day of our Basic IV Therapy Training in partnership with ANSAP: Practicum and Competency Assessment Day! 💉✨

After two days of learning principles, protocols, and safety standards, our participants including dedicated nurses from ZPMCH and various partner hospitals put their knowledge into practice. They demonstrated proper vein selection, strict infection control, correct insertion techniques, and safe IV management under the expert supervision of our ANSAP trainers.

We are proud to recognize every participant who completed the training with commitment and skill. Special recognition and awards were given to those who showed outstanding performance, attention to detail, professionalism, and dedication to patient safety throughout the program.

We continue our learning journey on the 2nd Day of Basic IV Therapy Training, proudly conducted in partnership with ANSAP. 🤝💉

Today’s session dives deeper into evidence-based practices: proper vein selection, infection control protocols, fluid and electrolyte balance, medication compatibility, and hands-on demonstration of safe IV insertion and management.

This training brings together not only our own healthcare team but also participating nurses from various hospitals, fostering shared knowledge, standardization of care, and professional collaboration across institutions.
