Date: December 29, 2025
Where: Brgy Talisayan near WMSU and seaoil depot
Road Hazard Observation:
An unsafe road condition was observed due to the insufficient or complete lack of reflectorized road signage and warning signs along the ongoing road widening project in Talisayan, specifically in front of WMSU Agriculture.
Hazard Description:
The absence of adequate early warning signs, barricades, and reflectorized markers poses a significant risk to motorists, particularly during nighttime and low-visibility conditions. Without proper signage, drivers may be unaware of lane narrowing, excavations, or road obstructions, which can potentially lead to traffic accidents, vehicle damage, or serious injuries.
Risk Assessment:
This condition significantly increases the likelihood of road accidents, especially for unfamiliar motorists, motorcycles, and heavy vehicles passing through the area at night.
Recommendation:
It is strongly recommended that the concerned government agency conduct an immediate inspection of the area and formally require the contractor responsible for the road widening project to install proper safety measures. These should include adequate early warning signs, reflectorized road signs, barricades, and other visible traffic safety devices to ensure motorists are properly alerted and guided through the construction zone, in compliance with standard road safety practices.
