TheraPathPH Therapy Center – Tacloban stands in deep sympathy with the victims, families, students, teachers, and the entire San Jose and Tacloban community affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.
Bullying is never acceptable.
Gun violence is never acceptable.
Violence against children is never acceptable.
No child should ever be made to feel unsafe, unheard, threatened, or alone.
No student should ever fear going to school.
No parent should ever have to worry whether their child will come home safely.
This tragedy is a painful reminder that we must take children’s emotional well-being and school safety seriously. Bullying should never be dismissed as “normal.” Emotional struggles should never be ignored. Warning signs should never be overlooked. And access to violence should never be taken lightly.
We strongly call for proper, consistent, and thorough security checks and inspections in every school — not to create fear, but to protect children, teachers, and the entire school community.
For the safety of every child, school security must be taken seriously. Bags, belongings, entry points, and school access should be checked and monitored responsibly. Every school must have clear safety protocols, proper inspection procedures, and trained personnel who can help prevent dangerous items from entering the campus.
Schools must remain safe spaces where children can learn, grow, play, and feel protected.
We also call on parents, guardians, teachers, and all trusted adults to talk to our children.
Ask them how they are.
Ask them what they are feeling.
Ask them if they feel safe.
Ask them if someone is hurting them.
Ask them if they are hurting inside.
Ask them if they need help.
Please do an emotional temp check on your children — not only when something is wrong, but regularly. Sometimes children carry pain, fear, anger, shame, or sadness silently. They need adults who will listen, guide, protect, and respond with compassion.
We must teach our children that kindness matters.
We must teach them that asking for help is brave.
We must teach them that bullying is wrong.
We must teach them that violence is never the answer.
As a therapy center serving children and families, we strongly stand for safer schools, stronger support systems, emotional guidance, responsible school security, kindness, and protection for every child.
We have seen and supported children who have experienced bullying, and we know that the scars can be deeper than what many people realize. Bullying can affect a child’s confidence, safety, trust, emotional well-being, and sense of belonging. It is never “just teasing.” It is never something to ignore. The pain children carry can stay with them long after the incident has passed.
This is why we must listen earlier, act faster, inspect better, protect better, and teach every child that kindness, respect, and asking for help matter.
Our hearts are with San Jose.
Our prayers are with every family affected.
Our stand is firm:
🖤 No to bullying.
🖤 No to gun violence.
🖤 Yes to school safety, thorough security inspection, emotional support, kindness, peace, and protection for every child.
