Some stories remind us why compassionate, skilled caregivers make all the difference. A Norton Healthcare employee recently shared her experience giving birth at Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital, a day that took an unexpected turn when her smooth pregnancy became an emergency.
In her words, the Labor & Delivery team “moved as one,” communicating clearly, comforting her through every step, and acting quickly to save her baby. Within minutes, her son was born healthy and crying, a blessing in the middle of fear. She shared heartfelt gratitude for two nurses in particular: Tori Bunton and Megan Fugate.
Tori stayed by her side throughout labor, calmly guiding her and even visiting afterward to check on the family. Megan met her on the way to the OR, holding her hand while keeping her baby stable offering steady reassurance when it mattered most.
Her message to them says it all: “I’ll always remember the quality of care, compassion, and heart you provided during such a stressful time. You all are rockstars.”
Because of this powerful nomination, Tori and Megan are being honored with a DAISY Award, a recognition truly reflective of the impact they had on this family’s life. 🌼
