Dengue Awareness & Training Workshop | Bahawalpur
It was an honor for Prof. Dr. Qazi Masroor Ali to participate as the Chief Guest at the Dengue Awareness & Training Workshop held at Quaid-e-Azam Medical College (QAMC), Bahawalpur.
The workshop brought together healthcare professionals from Bahawalpur, Dunyapur, Khanewal, Bahawalnagar, Ahmedpur East, and surrounding districts to strengthen regional preparedness against dengue.
A special appreciation to Dr. Qudsia Anwar, Focal Person, Dengue Control Program, QAMC Bahawalpur, for her kind invitation and for successfully organizing this important regional training workshop. Her dedication and leadership played a key role in bringing together healthcare professionals committed to improving dengue prevention and management.
During his address, Prof. Dr. Qazi Masroor Ali emphasized that prevention is the most effective weapon against dengue. He encouraged healthcare professionals to actively conduct awareness campaigns in schools, colleges, universities, seminaries, and local communities, particularly during the rainy season, to reduce the spread of dengue through education and preventive measures.
He also highlighted the importance of:
Strictly following Pakistan's approved dengue management guidelines for every patient.
Documenting and reporting new, unusual, and atypical dengue cases to strengthen clinical research.
Promoting continuous community awareness to ensure early diagnosis and timely management.
As there is no specific antiviral treatment for dengue, prevention through public awareness, early diagnosis, and evidence-based clinical care remains the most effective strategy.
Together, we can build healthier communities by educating, preventing, and protecting.
