Press Release:
A claim of faith accompanied by a life of inaction has no life in it.
Ameer Abdul Qadeer Awan
Across the world, the Muslim Ummah is suffering from decline. Islam provides such guidance regarding the division of rights and duties, and the manner of fulfilling them, that it is the best for human beings in both this world and the Hereafter. Along with claims of faith, there are people whose souls possess the power to soar. We make claims of possessing religion and also hold the honor of being part of the Ummah, yet because of our character, no one even trusts us with a few rupees.
This was stated by Ameer Abdul Qadeer Awan, Sheikh of Silsilah, in his address on Friday.
He said that being an Ummati of the Holy Prophet ﷺ is a tremendous blessing from Allah Almighty. When we analyze the principles and regulations associated with this honour of being part of the Ummah, we come to realize that faith is not merely a claim, but the name of sincerely acting upon religious commandments. From this one example alone, you can understand the nature of Islamic teachings: the command to use the miswak—we clean our teeth and at the same time earn reward and blessings. Many benefits of this act have been mentioned, and the Sunnah is also fulfilled.
He further said that when we enter Islam completely, there is no aspect of life in which guidance is not present. They are not only commands; the Holy Prophet ﷺ practically demonstrated, taught, and corrected matters in this world. The consensus of the Ummah is what has conveyed this guidance to us today. One who does not believe in the Oneness of Allah and cannot even perform a single prostration ends up bowing at every door. He falls into such slavery, drifting like a broken kite sometimes here, sometimes there, carried by the wind.
May Allah Almighty grant right consciousness.
At the end, he also led a collective prayer for the security and survival of the country.
